Had a very enjoyable stay here but it`s for me not 4 star . I`ve stayed in Lake Garda 4 times now at 4 star hotels and although very good it just falls short . I`ll give my reasons why .........................The room I got was to the rear .It`s quite small and cramped and bathroom is very small . The shower is it`s biggest let down .Very small and if you are a large person I think you would struggle here .Also the shower has not got a thermostatic mixer .That means when you eventually mix hot & cold if someone in another room turns on tap the water can either get too hot or too cold . The rooms to front over looking the lake are much larger and have a lovely view .Only problem is bathroom is same size as back rooms with no thermostatic mixer valve .
The breakfast has no great selection to 4 star standard .not great at all .The meals at night are very good but sweet should come with a menu which could be typed and copied each night .The waiter describes to you what`s on the menu for tonight and that`s not as good as having a sheet in front of you so you can ponder over what you wish . Another point is when you are having your breakfast the waiter puts down the Evening Menu so you can select starter & main course .Now I expect that in a 2 star or 3 star hotel but not 4 star . It means you have to decide at breakfast what you want and by night you may feel differently . The meal is done by silver service and is good . Just the points I`ve mentioned is the fly in the ointment .
I did enjoy stay though just these points spoilt it a bit . I would like to say the staff were very good and Anja on reception is about best I`ve ever had and that`s many hotels .A real gem and lovely person . Also Corrader the male receptionist was first class .
The hotel has a nice location and lovely terrace with pool area very good. Would I go back ? I`m afraid not as the slogan of hotel says" just like home" ,well in my case not so .

Room Tip: Rooms to front have Lake view and are much better but are also much more expensive

We have just returned from 10 days at the Hotel Garden and have to say we had a great holiday. As mentioned in other reviews the location is perfect (close to the lake, ferry port, bus stop) yet set in its own grounds to make for a relaxing break.

The staff, service and food were all excellent, we could not fault anything, we were also pleasantly surprised to find the hotel had a well equipped Gym when we used, in addition to a good size pool and great patio area.

The decor is not ultra modern, but traditional and the bar/lounge has a good selection of books to borrow with plenty of seating.

We had an amazing holiday and will definitely return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Opt for a Lake View room and watch the lake from your balcony

Just returned from our 2nd stay at Hotel Garden. It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. It has a unique family atmosphere created by Famiglia Luigi Zermini, with an efficient and friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the food is of the highest quality and the service excellent. The hotel is a short walk from the lakeside.
We returned home refreshed and relaxed with many happy memories. We will return!

Room Tip: Best views on front

Ok, let's get the negatives out of the way first. Yes, the rooms could do with updating and, yes, the bathrooms need modernising BUT, and it is a big BUT, the hotel has that certain something. A wonderful charm and just fantastic staff. Anja on reception and Michele, Maitre'D, were particularly friendly, although all the staff were really. They could not be more helpful or pleasant. And it is all done in a non-patronising way. There are plenty of sun beds around the pool and, indeed, in the lovely adjoining garden. Even a hammock! Many guests we spoke to have been here several times and that speaks volumes. And the food and service are wonderful. Real silver service dining with a lovely choice of evening meal, usually local dishes. Just marvellous. Would we come back? Undoubtedly, yes. And we don't go back to places! You must try this hotel and Garda itself. Just so relaxing.

Just returned from our third stay at the wonderful Garden hotel. The staff are brilliant, the meals are delicious and the hotel itself is lovely. Clean, quiet rooms, great location, excellent facilities. Yet again we recommend this family run hotel.

Room Tip: Lake view and balcony is my recommendation
