getting up in the morning and looking out the window over a picturesque little harbour with its pretty yachts makes for a quite special experience. the whole place is brimming with history, and the metropole has seen more than 120 years of it. not long ago the hotel was completely renovated but has not lost its flair of the previous turn of the century. it does not only overlook the romantic harbour and canal, but different from emperor's time, has now all the modern comforts to offer (and very comfortable beds!) as well.
a special treat is having breakfast (from a well-assorted buffet) at the tables in front of the hotel. the staff is very friendly and accomodating. to top it all up, the metropole is right at the edge of the utterly charming historic city as well as just around the corner of the main shopping street (pedestrian zone) and about 10 minutes walking distance from the beach.More
