I read many reviews before picking this hotel but I don't think any really conveyed just how great the location is for skiing. The gondola is about 20 meters from the hotel and there is a lift ticket window and ski equipment rental place all in the same building. We rented boots and skis and all high end equipment and cheaper than here in the states. With snow on the ground we were able to ski to the front of our hotel at the end of the day. As for the hotel, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and in relation to skiing there is a ski instructor on site each evening to consult with for lessons or just to discuss best places to ski.
The restaurant in the hotel is very good and the staff very attentive. I saw some complain but not sure on what basis, the breakfast was more than adequate and the dinner menu changes each day. We wanted and did try two other restaurants that were excellent in town, but you can't go wrong eating at the hotel. The dinner menu is posted in the elevator each morning so you can decide if you want to go out or not. We also skied in twice and ate lunch in the hotel and that was really nice as well.
The Spa is quite luxurious and we each did massages 3 times and really high quality...I read many reviews before picking this hotel but I don't think any really conveyed just how great the location is for skiing. The hotel has underground parking if you arrive as we did with a car. We had a great room (501 as I recall). Really could not ask for a better location or nicer staff and would definitely return. Also, from some other reviews I could not tell exactly how far it was to the town. It is a 5 minute walk maybe the same as walking 4 or 5 blocks in NYC (not avenues!). Very close and easy and we walked to super market to load up on water and fruit and to restaurants, cafes and shops.More
