We chose Villa Barbarich after a cruise. It’s a bit outside the city but a lovely place. Clean & comfortable rooms, beautiful pool & surrounding gardens. The Staff was warm & welcoming. The restaurant was quite expensive and was just ok. Nothing much around this area. We would have stayed elsewhere but they had a strict cancellation policy. No cancellations! So we made the best of it.

A beautiful hotel with so much history, the rooms are as shown on their site if not better. We had a comfy room and it was a great size with a good size shower and bathroom. The staff were so welcoming and helpful it made our stay a wonderful experience. There is a bus stop in 5 mins walking distance where you can a bus to Venice or Mestre town. If you catch any bus up to 9.25 this takes you direct into Venice otherwise you change at Mestre Centre. You can get the transport tickets from reception which is considerably cheaper than trying to get them on the bus. There are also shops and restaurants within walking distance 30 mins at plodding mode or 20 mins for a faster walker, two areas either left of the hotel or straight on. Straight on you will find a very big shopping mall and supermarket. This made for a great location without the expense of central Venice. We only had breakfast at the hotel, this was all you could eat, of fruit, cereals, toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, meats and cheeses, if you couldn't find it you only have to ask, the staff at breakfast were always smiling and attentive. We had high expectations on our arrival and I am pleased to say they were not just met but exceeded.
The hotel is set in a quiet surrounding, and serves as a great base in which to explore the cities/towns close by. Travelling into Venice was very easy, simply take a bus into Mastre centre (10min) and then the tram into Venice (25 min), all for €1.50 single. A point to note is the hotel is not within walking distance of any external restaurants, so the hotel is your only option if you want to stay in. Not a bad option.
The hotel staff were friendly, well informed and helpful. The breakfast was superb, lots of options and to a great standard. The dining room was spectacular - a wonderful setting.
Our room had a fantastic bed and was well appointed. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great.
We had two spa massages from Bla during our stay and they were fantastic - so relaxing.
Overall a great place to stay, and we would love to come back.
