We stayed for five days in July in this nice hotel located right in the center of the town. Our room had a balcony with a spectacular view on the sea. The room was very clean and pleasant with its colored 'Vietri style' tiles, although a bit small.
The breakfast was really good, with a wide selection of pastries and homemade cakes (do not complain if you do not find enough 'salty' food, the south of Italy is not a place where to have a british style breakfast). The staff was extremely nice and not intrusive at all. We did not try the restaurant, but they propose a daily menu with both meat and fish options. This is a hotel we definitely recommend.

Amazing location, beautiful view, really nice for family or a romantic week end. It has all in one, the bar has delicious Gelato and they make very good drinks. You must try the restaurant, they have dishes with fresh fish, so tasty!!!! Fresh mozzarella and homemade desserts. Very professional staff, in the bar and in the hotel. They deserve five stars!!! Great job!

My wife and I stayed in this hotel from April 27- 30. We had booked a boat tour of the Palinuro beaches and grottoes and mentioned to our guide that we wished that we had booked a hotel in Palinuro. Upon completion of our boat trip he walked us from the beach to this hotel and introduced us to the manager, Nebbina, who speaks perfect English. Nebbina let us see two of the rooms available. We chose the one with beach view. The king sized bed was comfortable, and high end linens were used. The bathroom was large by European standards and featured a full size bath tub. The room was kept spotless. Air conditioning was available along with complementary Wifi service . An additional plus was that the hotel has Sky TV which means that you can watch all the major American/English news networks if you are so inclined. Like most small beach towns, street parking can be scarce but the hotel has their own small lot across the street. We never had a problem with access. The breakfast buffet featured the standard Italian breakfast pastries, juice, cheese and ham and hot beverages.
They also had fresh eggs which you boil yourself to your preferred doneness.
This was our fifth trip to Italy. We have toured the Cinque Terre and beach towns of Puglia along the Adriatic. We liked the Cliento coast the best so far. The Santa Caterina provides quality accommodations at a reasonable cost. The service is excellent and we are seriously considering a repeat stay next year.

Room tip: Spend an extra 30 euros and get a room with the view of the beach.

The hotel is nice, with nice views and very central located. The beach is also very close. rooms are nice and spotless. Buffet breakfast is ok. The Front Desk staff are nice and the hotel is also provided with a (small) complimentary parking. Can't fault it at all.
Palinuro itself is quiet and small. Beaches are very nice, I was expecting a bit more from restaurants and bars. It's the right place to relax, anyway.

We stayed here for 6 nights in september. We were meant to stay at hotel baia but we found out on the train to palinuro they didnt have a room for us anymore! Luckily I was able to call santa caterina and they could accomodate, they also sent an audi tt convertable to pick us up from the train station! Once we arrived they showed us to our room which had a great view of the town and sea from our balcony. The rooms were nice with large bed and with a decent sized tv which had sky which you could switch from italian to english! This was definately needed. The bathroom was also nice. Food was served at the hotel and the breakfast was nice, some pastries, eggs, toast and fresh juice, the 4euro per person per day charge to deliver to your room was abit steep though. The hotel is located on one of the main roads in the town, there are several restaurants along this road along with other tourists shops. The beach is about 300m downhill, if you walk directly down from the hotel you will end up coming to a small sandy/rocky beach, the sand portion is only about 20metres, but it was nice and quiet and the beach was very nice. Although being 30degrees the water was cold. There were beach chairs there which are free! If somebody in the off season asks for money do not listen to them, as i unfortunately fell victim to a con artist . The town in september was dead, shops close between 1 and 5, nothing is open. The ice cream at the bar beside the hotel was fantastic. We were hoping to visit the national park and other areas but it was too far, but the area is great if you want an authentic italian town and to relax. We were one of the few tourists and the only ones who spoke english from what i could tell.
