Villa Lighea Art Boutique
Reviewed 2 July 2016

I highly recommend Villa Lighea it is perfect for large group. The owners are great very helpful. Roberto's wife Katia is awesome, she was so helpful. There were 11 woman and we had plenty of room. The villa is kept spotless by Oxana , she does not speak English so use a translator app. The view is killer we got incredible pictures of the town of Positano. The villa has everything you could need. The pool is perfect after a day at the beach which is about 230 steps down and beautiful. There is a restaurant and the food is delicious. Also, get a scropina just yummy and refreshing. The villa is 10-15 minute walk to town so pretty easy. Remember if you need anything have questions Roberto, Manuala and Katia are a phone call away. They actually give you a cell phone to contact them with. Remember you are in one of the most beautiful places in the world so if internet is not working get over it. Who needs tv or internet go see the sites. Also check out The restaurant Bruno great food.

Room Tip: All rooms have there own bathroom which is great. Every room has its own character.

Villa Lighea exceed our expectations. This Villa had majestic views and was spotless. Manuela and Roberto were such great hosts. Roberto helped us find a such great restaurant. The housekeeper was so nice with the kids and kept the house spotless. I can't recommend this place enough truly beautiful. Memories to last a life time we went with our whole family 11 of us and had plenty of space. The only negative was we had to come home.

We were a group of 12 friends (6 couples) from Ontario, Canada that had the fortunate opportunity to see Rome together, followed by a week in Positano- We loved the set up of six bedrooms with six beautiful settings- four with private terrace- all with a view ...in fresh clean rooms-crisp white sheets and towels. (Changed mid week-Beach towels provided). Four bedrooms with their own terrace, the other two with views..and garden or pool access. Each bedroom had its own on-suite bathroom, and the central gathering terrace and living room after a dip in the pool, were perfect at the end of a day exploring the Amalfi Coast....which was day after day of awesome outings, several of which were recommendations, from the villa owners. My personal favourite day, was in the private 32 foot boat that the 12 of us chartered, to tour us around Capri...This was with a local company that Roberto set up, the captain and owner of boat picked us up at the beach, 230 steps below Villa Lighea...At Arienzo Beach. (It was about $1000 euros-but the experience was priceless) We had a leisurely cruise, swam and took in the views ...then spent a few hours on the island of Capri. We lunched in Ana Capri, at a wonderful local restaurant and honestly.. this day could not have been more perfect. *Capri central is packed with the cruise ship crowd.

The Arienzo beach was a great feature of the villa as well, it was hot while we were there and you could rent a chair, towel for day. I would recommend sand shoes...for the beach..as it is made of hot stones...and depending on the time of year, beware of jelly fish...the beach bar with a sea food menu (we loved the mussels) and great drinks and water taxi service to Positano were a fun feature of our stay. (Giorgio at bar speaks fluent English and makes great drinks!). ****we had some fun gatherings here. -food is served until around 4pm. The water taxi often closes around lunch time but you can organize private pick up if they are not too busy...usually waiters are boat captains too.

Manuela and Roberto were extremely helpful, not only with providing tour options but also, in booking dinner reservations or recommending spots around town. We loved our lunch at Da Adolfo...Great sea food in a beach/ atmosphere.

The owners of the villa, organized the local grocery store to deliver and we liked stopping in and picking out our groceries and having the delivery to the house...the young boys usually walked our food to us in boxes on their shoulders... Good 20 minute walk from store. the service of having fresh food delivered to the villa from local grocery Manuela set us up with...was awesome! We tipped these guys well as we loved their service and smiles! The staff at house will get BBQ ready for you ...and if you like to cook the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. We enjoyed this feature of the house.

I would like to return to Positano with my family one day and I know others in our group would too! I certainly would want our return to be with Villa Lighea/Villa Cleopatra.

By the way we really liked the staff that came in daily to clean..they drop off coffee and sweet breads then come later to clean.

You won't be disappointed in this location...the views, the area, the villa and the hospitality made it a wonderful vacation experience for us.

Thank-you, Manuela and Roberto- and your family.

Our stay at Villa Lighea was a dream come true for our group of four adults and three “tweens”, and our wonderful memories will last forever. From the moment we arrived in Positano, Manuela and her staff made us feel like family.
We used the Villa as our home base for the week and enjoyed many day trips within an hour or two away. Manuela and her brother Roberto seem to know EVERYONE in town and afar, and her recommendations and assistance with local restaurants, boat tours and excursions along the coast made it easy for us to enjoy the best attractions available. Roberto was extremely helpful with a parking ticket, and Manuela went out of her way to help return a forgotten camera lens to Canada – not an easy task and could not have been done without her help.
The villa is well located and offers fantastic views from every room, with privacy as needed and ample room to spend time together; both inside and out. Each bright and spacious bedroom had its own private bathroom and all were tastefully decorated and very comfortable.
The short walk to town was enjoyed more than once daily, and a convenient and friendly grocery/produce store (Joseph and his Mother, Josephina) filled in the gaps for what we needed “at home”.
We will absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Positano, and highly recommend Villa Lighea to anyone considering staying in this exceptional villa.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Villa faces the sea from the High Ground just as Lighea, the Siren, who overlooked the deep blue of the Mediterranean up to the horizon, to safeguard sailors.Villa Lighea is situated in one of the most beautiful and fashionable areas of Positano, the little village of the Amalfi coast famous for its uniqueness and beauty. As John Steinbeck once put it: “Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you are gone.”The Vila is a characteristic Positano building where the influence of Byzantine architecture has been perfectly merged with the skillful hands of contemporary local masters. It features arches, vaults and niches that stand out on the pastel sky-blue majolica tiles. The view is simply breathtaking – with the entire bay of Positano opening to your eyes. All bedrooms and terraces overlook the Mediterranean, the famous Li Galli (Sirens’ island) is in front of you and Positano itself is on your right. The Villa has two floors, surrounded by beautiful terraces and gardens. The living room is spacious with a panoramic veranda terrace, overlooking the sea. It is furnished with cozy sofas, a large dinner table for the perfect lively dinners together. There is also a large flat screen satellite TV, as well as audio / DVD equipment and wireless Internet (wireless can be used anywhere in the residence, gardens and swimming pool area). The kitchen is adjacent to the living room is of professional quality and is equipped accordingly. You can enjoy cooking your own meals or hire a professional chef for an entire day or a special event. The villa itself has 5 bedrooms (either double or twin), and there is a sixth bedroom (apartment) right next to the villa in the same residence, which is available. All bedrooms have sea view, are furnished in Mediterranean style, have on suit bathrooms, and a small balcony. Each has air cons, safe keeping facilities, hair dryers, mosquito nets, WiFi connection. We decided not to put TVs in the bedrooms- the view is simply too beautiful to be “contested” by other images. Listen to the sound of the waves and your favorite music if you choose to use the iPod docks provided in all the bedrooms. In the outside area you will be able to enjoy the sun in the beautiful garden solarium, a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or relax in a Jacuzzi bath. The closest beach is Arienzo, which is only a few minutes walk down the stairs. There you will find a lovely family run restaurant to enjoy a freshly cooked traditional lunch, rent a sun bed or take a water taxi to the main Positano beach. The center of Positano is just one kilometer away from the villa and can be comfortably reached by public transport (bus stop opposite to the villa), taxi or by taking a pleasant picturesque stroll (about 20 minutes). On your arrival you will be greeted by Manuela, Katya and Roberto, who are there to help you to make you stay in Positano truly memorable. It will be our pleasure to suggest you (as well as help to arrange, book, etc) interesting excursions, best restaurants and all that our area can offer. ... more   less
