You can not get a better view of Positano than from this hotel. My husband I celebrated our honeymoon here in the junior suite. It's a fairly small hotel and the room we stayed in was beautiful. It had a large balcony overlooking that postcard view the town is known for.

The breakfast included with the room rate was really good, and breakfast is served in their restaurant, which also has that amazing view.

The beach is only a short ten minute walk away. The winding streets that are fun to wander are close by. I was very happy that we chose to stay here.

Unfortunately, we were not pleased with our stay specifically due to to our room request and also one of the hotel’s policies.
Regarding the room : The day we arrived we checked into our room only to be informed that we did not have a shower head attached to a wall as in all normal hotel showers I’ve ever used. Rather, it was a jacuzzi tub with an extendable arm hose that could stretch to about 5 feet in height. This setup also had no glass surrounding the tub to prevent the water from getting all over the floor. I am 6ft. tall and this was totally unacceptable . Furthermore, my girlfriend slipped on the wet floor but fortunately only bruised her arm.
Knowing this is not a normal feature at any hotel we contacted the front desk. They then began by stating to us that the unattached shower hose is standard in your rooms and that there were no more rooms available regardless. We then asked another guest of the hotel about their room and they stated they had a normal shower with the shower head attached to the wall. Confused, we called the front desk a 2nd time and told them what we heard. The front desk receptionist then mentioned they had another room available if we would like to see it. So we checked out the next room. It had the same exact feature… an extendable shower hose, and nothing mounted on the wall. Baffled at this point, we became very agitated and demanded a new room or a refund and we would find a more suitable hotel. The front desk notified us about an hour later that they had a room for us to check out but it would have to wait until the next morning.… We agreed to and eventually checked out that room and it was what we had expected from day one. We finished our stay at this room.
Now, here is the issue regarding the hotel policy that we have a problem with. We were in town for a family wedding. The majority of our family was staying at a neighboring hotel. There was one couple (members of the wedding party) that was staying a considerable distance away. They asked us if it was ok for them to change into their wedding clothes in our room because it was a 20 minute walk to our hotel where the wedding shuttle was picking us up. Absolutely! We said yes only for them to be confronted at the front desk and told they would not be allowed into the room. I spoke with the receptionist and told him it would only take about five minutes and we would greatly appreciate it. He showed zero regard (robot-like) for my request and, instead, led them into a small bathroom/closet area and were told to change there. We were devastated and totally embarrassed for them to be treated this way on the day of the wedding. The receptionist showed zero emotion or empathy….totally classless. It was utterly disgusting the response and lack of care that your receptionists displayed. A robot would’ve been more sympathetic to the situation.
At over $500/night, I think your employees should display more of a courteous and helpful manner than that of a robot with automated responses.
Upon checkout, we were surprised there wasn’t even a small offering of monetary return for our hassle with the showerless room or for family simply wanting to change clothes in our room. This policy should be clearly visible and made know to your visitors so they have the option to seek another hotel before it’s too late like what happened to us.

Our stay at Hotel L'Ancora was incredible! I did so much research beforehand trying to find where to stay and for value & location and this one fit our wants and needs best. The management and staff were so kind, accommodating, and professional. Our luggage was delayed from the Naples airport for a couple days and Domenico (one of the managers) helped tremendously in getting information on when and how we could receive our stuff.

It's next door to the famous Franco's Bar (drinks are pricy but it was a Positano must!) and Le Sirenuse so the views were breathtaking. A short walk down to the beach and plenty of shops nearby so we didn't go far for anything!

We were in the Family Junior Suite which had *plenty* of space (two bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub) and a balcony that we spent most of our down time on. The AC was fabulous and the space was very clean. Breakfast was included in the price so we didn't have to go on the hunt for a meal every morning - very convenient and the staff couldn't have been nicer to us.

Also, there is an elevator so we didn't have to carry everything up and down stairs, although you will do plenty of walking up and down stairs in Positano as is!
The one thing that I felt was not advertised correctly was the allowance of using the pool at the sister hotel Covo dei Saraceni. We saw online (and from reviews) that we could utilize it but we went and were told that it wasn't available to us. Perhaps this was something that was done before COVID times and they stopped offering it? So, a bummer there but they do have a restaurant and gelato shop that are open to the public. Right next to other popular restaurants near the water!

I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to stay in Positano. We were there for 5 nights and felt safe, comfortable, and like we got our money's worth. We miss it already!

I visited Positano for the first time and I was lucky to stay in this amazing hotel, what ever I say I can’t describe how it was, starting from location till the bill man.
The most fastest service I ever got, the staff were very kind and friendly, welling to help anytime.
I read a lot about the breakfast that it is not good enough, for us was all what we need is there and it was very nice, even the room service.
For me this hotel will be my address when ever I visit Positano.
Thank you for your amazing hospitality

Our experience at Ancora was absolutely wonderful! The hotel is perfectly located and easily walkable to the beach, restaurants, bars, etc. The entire hotel has amazing views of Positano as well! Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean and the beautiful architecture of Positano. Although we were near some of the best bars in Positano, we also very much enjoyed a glass of wine on our private balcony. The staff was kind, very welcoming, and helpful throughout our entire trip! Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff made a great effort to assist us with reservations, both before our arrival and during our trip. Dominic at the front desk was especially helpful!

Thank you for making our stay in such a beautiful place so wonderful. We will definitely be back!
