One of the best Positano has to offer because of its location, service and room amenities.

Albergo Miramare will hands down be our go to hotel in Positano. My husband and I both agree the location of Albergo Miramare is ideal when traveling to Positano. It is located in the middle so you walk down a few flights of stairs from the main road or down several flights to the beach depending on where you are going. Whether you are going up to the main road for dinner or down to the dock for a boat tour, you minimize climbing stairs with this prime location. Don't get me wrong there are stairs on all paths but we found our hotel to be in the best possible spot as opposed to being located at the top of the mountain creating a long climb home each day or at the bottom where you would have a long climb up each day.

Beyond the ideal location, here are the other reasons my family will look no further for hotel accommodations when traveling to Positano.

Staff: The staff were so easy to communicate with from the very beginning. After booking our apartment for the week, my husband's work conference dates changed in Sicily. I emailed the staff at Albergo Miramare and within hours they adjusted our dates with no issues. Danielle and Nicola were incredible with arranging transfers to and from the airport for my family. They assisted us in chartering a private boat to Capri which was our favorite day of the trip. Every staff member we encountered from reception, porter service , housekeeping and restaurant staff were all friendly and professional.

Room: We booked the apartment for our family of four. Our apartment was located across the steps from the reception office and only a few steps up from the hotel restaurant. The apartment had two bedrooms, two full baths, two closets, a small lounge area in the master bedroom and a full living area between the two bedrooms and hallway connecting the two bedrooms. The apartment was spacious and having the full living area was a nice feature when taking breaks from the heat during the day. The air conditioning was of US standard as it really cooled the entire apartment unlike many other air conditioning units we have experienced in our travels abroad. The beds and pillows were soft and comfortable which made for a good nights sleep. Housekeeping changed sheets and replaced towels daily. The private balcony was the icing on the cake for us. It was spacious with two tables for enjoying dinner and four lounge chairs for resting and enjoying the views. The view was so picturesque from our private balcony.

Restaurant: The breakfast included in our room rate was served daily from 7:30-10:30 in La Scalinatella. The restaurant was just beautiful with a paper tree draping from the ceiling and walls. The views from the restaurant are the best you will find in Positano. Each morning there was a diverse buffet served with fresh fruit, cooked vegetables, cheese selections, sliced meat selections, eggs (boiled, scrambled and fried), bacon, sausage and hash browns. Each day they offered different sweet options such as a lemon cake, ricotta torte, pancakes and chocolate cake. Once seated you were also served a selection of crossaints. Between the beautiful setting and the nice selection of breakfast options it was a delightful way to begin your day.

Be sure to request the hotel's porter service upon your arrival and your departure as they will meet you at the road to carry down your luggage. Should you have an early morning departure they will carry up your luggage the night before and lock it in their storage unit to prevent you from carrying it up yourself upon your departure. Be sure to arrange this valuable service.

If you are looking to book your stay in Positano then look no further as Albergo Miramare is such a gem.

Absolutely stunning and beyond our wildest imagination. The hotel has a spectacular view and our room and balcony were absolutely the best. The hotel staff was attentive to all our needs...room service, restaurant, everything. We had some special needs and they were very accommodating and supportive.

Don't be threatened by some of the reviews for the steps. Yes, it is 150 steps down from the street, 400+ from the pier. We arrived on the street and the hotel had a porter to help with the luggage. Right at the top of the stairs for the hotel, there are two hotels. Both are very good. The Cafe Positano has "the view"! The Da Vincenzo Positano is simply outstanding food. We'd walk down the street to the little convenience shop to buy daily wine for our evenings watching the boats in the harbor and the activity on the beach.

The downtown area is a nice easy walk down the road to the shops and all kinds of restaurants and gelato and bakeries. Yum yum!

The road traffic is one direction into town and then a different road (higher up) leading out of town. We didn't use any taxi's we walked everywhere and enjoyed the views.

Get the rooms with the balconies if you can book them. Worth it!

Room tip: Walking is not optional in Positano. Don't fear the steps but be prepared.

What can I say?! We stayed here two nights during our weeklong trip to Italy in April. The hotel is a boutique hotel with impeccable service. Every person we encountered was friendly, pleasant, engaging, and helpful. Our room was right off the lobby. We stayed in the Junior Suite Sea View. OMG! The views were spectacular and only matched by the staff's impeccable service. Our first night there, it was a beautiful full moon. We dined at La Scalinatella under the full moonlight, which was superb! The view from the restaurant looking out at the Tyrrhenian Sea was breathtaking. We chose a seven-course meal that was sublime. On day two, the staff provided excellent restaurant recommendations. We dined at Next2, and it was amazing.

The location of the hotel was perfect. There were several stairs to climb, but we just took our time. I also recommend a small suitcase and a duffle. They have a porter who will carry your luggage down and up, but the stairs are unforgiving, with extremely heavy luggage.

When Mike and I return, we will definitely stay at the Alberto Hotel Miramare!! Thank you for the incredible hospitality!!

Room tip: Do not drive; take Rainbow Limos from Naples. Carry small luggage as the stairs are unforgiving. Dress casually and wear comfortable shoes.

From the moment we had our bags collected by Renato from the roadside (which he slung over his back with ease and marched down the steps to the hotel) and then the lovely welcome at reception we felt completely at home at Albergo Miranare. The view from our room was unbelievable - looking out to the deep blue sea - as was the service and breakfast. A very friendly place yet with an air of unfussy exclusivity. Well positioned for easy access to the main restaurants, bars and beaches. Pupetto beach is well worth a visit - much quieter than the main Positano beach with lovely artisan bars and restaurants in the immediate beach area. Albergo Miramare was a wonderful place to stay - we loved every minute of it.

Stayed here for our honeymoon, and let me say from the time that we arrived until our last day, we had the most pleasant experience. The luggage porter, RENATO, will save your life taking your luggage down those Positano steps. Literally, he is a superhero and so kind and happy all the time! We were welcomed by the front desk and anything we needed they provided. The breakfast was phenomenal and so cute. The view from our balcony and at the breakfast was beautiful. You are steps away from the beach which is amazing and the dock is right there. All in all, an amazing Positano experience. This is a great hotel and has so many perks ie the luggage porter, the staff, the breakfast, the views, the location being so close to spiaggia grande and the dock. 10/10
