We stayed for 5 days in February. The hotel is perfectly situated right on the slopes, with super easy access to all amenities inc ski hire & passes. ski schools & most importantly to the ski lifts which take you up to the slopes. The hotel itself is warm and inviting if a little dated. The staff were all extremely welcoming, friendly & helpful throughout our stay. We were half board and the food was for the most part good with lots of variation to the menu. The 'Abruzzo' night (typical dishes from region) was excellent. The staff in the restaurant were also great, no request was too much. We had wine (extra) that they kept for us over a few evenings rather than having to drink all in one sitting. Bacon & eggs freshly cooked for us each morning. The 'cons' to the hotel & area were that drinks in the bar were so expensive @10€ a pint!! There were 4 of us & a few pints after the slopes are always a must for us, but just too expensive on this trip! We would have frequented the bar more often if the prices were more reasonable. We ended up driving down to Roccaraso and buying beers, soft drinks & snacks there, but this also meant we spent a lot more time in our room than we would have liked. There are activities daily run by the hotel but there aren't any bars, restaurants nearby in the evening. I would say that this hotel is perfect for families with young kids, people with older kids or groups looking for 'apres ski' & night life might get bored especially if here without a car.
