Together with my husband we had the signature massage.
Did not expected to be so disappointed: the oil was supposed to be hot, but instead was cold. The room was cold.
But what stroke me most was the lack of experience and kindness from the girl doing the massage. To start with, she did not ask anything (I speak Italian fluently, this was not the problem). I would have expected to be asked about the pressure of the massage, am I cold … nothing at all. Then when I finally asked for a towel to be covered as I was cold, she just ignored my request.
I thought this was personal at first, but then my husband had the same bad experience.
Do not recommend. It’s a pity for such a nice hotel.

This is our favourite place in Sanremo! We love the fantastic & friendly staff, who hasn't changed over the years, their 2 spectacular private spas and the treatments their amazing beauty therapist Alessia provides, the palatian breakfast (now converted into a covid-friendly buffet). The direct view over the sea from the rooms, and the scenic elevator ride overlooking the beautiful orthodox church next door. The location is easy access on foot to some of the best restaurants, cafés and markets in town plus the waterfront is literally 2 minutes away. Book through the hotel directly for the best deals!

Room tip: Reserve the spa in advance as it can get booked up fairly quickly on the weekends. The hotel is dog friendly for an extra charge

Beautiful hotel with unbelievable views over the Med. Our junior suite had a small balcony that you can sit out on and enjoy the views. It did look out over a very busy road, but the shutters that electronically worked from inside the room cut out a lot of the noise at night. Our room was spotless and the housekeepers did a fabulous job. It’s also nice seeing a return to full service hotels, beds made every day and toiletries replenished. Breakfast was a buffet however, the waitress picks up all the food and brings it to your table. You are simply choosing your breakfast. Very safe indeed. Quick mention to the lady who did breakfast when we were there, dark hair tied back in a short pony tail. She was fabulous and a real asset to the hotel!

Room tip: Parking is available in car park across a busy road. Try not to park outside the hotel on the road as the spaces are tiny

We chose this hotel since we were mainly interested in having dinner the Michelin star restaurant Paolo e Barbara. The hotel has made an agreement with this restaurant and it is actually a very good idea. I experienced excellent service starting with reservation: they were kind, flexible and found a good solution for my budget. My room was really beautiful (I got a free upgrade with a room with sea front view and double balcony), just refurbished, very large with incredible view. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom modern and spacious with everything you need. The breakfast room is amazing with a lot of light and great view. Food was great with fresh fruit, homemade cake and all the rest you may want for breakfast

We decided to stay in San Remo on a whim, which meant going old-school that morning, ringing around various hotels. Most were dismissive, telling us they were full (which we highly doubted, given the vast drop off in tourist numbers in September 2020) and being generally unhelpful.

That all changed when we reached Cristina at the Hotel de Paris - she was immediately warm, welcoming and exceptionally professional. Within a few hours, we were sitting on a glorious terrace overlooking the water, enjoying la dolce vita from one of the most beautiful suites in the city.

By calling the hotel, we were able to get a much better overall package, and take advantage of the hotel's many extras, including a private beach, bicycle hire and on-site spa. The hotel is quiet, elegant and perfectly positioned for access to the beach, cycle track and old town, and yet away from the hubub of a city.

The staff at all times were just superb: more than willing to go the extra mile, and with a friendly smile too. The ladies in housekeeping ensured our room was immaculate every day, and we had no doubts whatsoever about the safety and hygiene of the hotel. We had to work a great deal during our stay, and the strong wifi and soundproofed rooms proved ideal.

All in all, this felt like a wonderful echo of times past: a truly luxurious vacation experience, in which your every need is catered for, and all that is left to do is relax in the timeless elegance of a glamorous 19th century hotel. Many thanks to Cristina for being so welcoming on the phone that morning - she is the perfect ambassador for a rather special hotel.

Room tip: Each suite offers different attractions: talk through your needs with the staff and they'll advise
