This is a terrible hotel. Staff is incredibly condescending and rude. It was literally a fight to get ice in the evening. After being directed to a bar that was closed, I was informed I couldn’t get ice. Additionally, be prepared if you book on any US sites. They treat Americans with disdain and are given the worst rooms; for example refusing to speak to me in English yet greeting the next guest, a Chinese family, in English. This is a « superior » room according to Expedia, but upon check-in, this Is what you get: laminate floors, a stinky AC unit, a bed that harkens back to poor college days, and a view of an alley. Beware travelers, this is discrimination at its best. Also, if you plan on visiting the pool, be prepared. They will charge you not only for the lounge chair, but also for the towel. I reiterate, do not book this hotel. Again, this is a « superior » room, and these are the views you get. These are photos from my room, and I welcome comments.

The hotel building is beautiful, and situated close to a nice beach, and a short walk from the city centre/harbour. The rooms and common areas are run-down but still charming. Regret that we didn’t book rooms with sea view; our rooms were facing the quiet but not so nice looking parking lot. Service is very friendly and helpful, breakfast have the basics you need and you can also order different coffees. Swimmingpool and bar is nice, the sunbeds cost 7€ incl towels, considering the prices at the beach this is OK. And plenty of chairs for free if you will just stay for a dip in the pool and/or drinks. All in all the four stars are probably a bit overrated, but we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in this hotel with our 7months baby july 8-10. What can I say.. not a nice experience! The hotel exterior is very beautiful. Old yellow historical building. Inside beautiful too. Old furniture and lots of paintings. Now to the dislikes. First: nobody meeting you and helping with suitcases in supposedly 4star hotel. You have to pay for everything here. To open a bottle of your own wine- 10€! Swimming pool is free BUT you have to pay 7€ for towel and bed, so I guess not so free hah? Nobody wants to go to the pool and just stand there! Rooms.. in room #526 no wifi at all! Don’t know about others. no mini bar in rooms, only water. No beach towels, no tooth paste, shower gel, no kettle, no coffee machine, no international TV. Floors are hardwood and making lots of noise, doors the same problem. its ok if you don’t have a 7months old sleeping... House keeping is poor. I suppose They don’t wash floors, as its dirty. Breakfast is ok, not much to eat there. One type of cheese, one sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, yogurt, some bread and croissants (not tasty at all). Also we payed for sea view and got the view on the destroyed building without windows.. pretty creepy

I just stayed at this hotel and from the moment I checked in the service was amazing and I was made to feel welcome. The nice lady at the reception gave me a free upgrade to a sea view and all of the staff at the hotel were very nice to me including the restaurant staff. My room was clean with all the amenities needed and the balcony sea view was incredible as seen in the attached photos. There was also a nice outdoor sea water pool with a small bar where you can enjoy some drinks while relaxing.
I only have good things to say about this hotel and the staff. I will be back for sure.

Dating originally from 1860 this hotel has been adapted, added to, and generally cosseted so that it is fully functional in 2019 catering for the tourist in Summer and Autumn and relying more on congressional visitors for the rest of the year. The ground floor rooms are really grand and spacious with high ceilings, the dining-room with its stucco and twin chandeleers being particularly so. The ordinary bedrooms are less impressive but most have balconies and a cramped but complete bathroom with everything in order. The beds are firm and have good matresses and all the usual appointments you expect of a four star hotel are there. The parking and efficient wifi are free but you must pay €7 if you wish to relax by the pool with a towel and a lounger although a simple swim is not charged. If I have one negative comment to make it is about the breakfast coffee. The system at the time of writing is that you have a couple of two-litre thermoses with plungers where you "squeeze out" the American-style coffee into your cup. (It is actually stronger than American, but it is still filter and not a proper expresso-type). The staff are constantly replenishing these thermoses, when they could be providing "the real McCoy" from a proper expresso machine. Alternatively they could just provide coffee capsules. Are they really afraid these will disappear into copious handbags by unscrupulous guests?! Apart from this quibble, I can recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Room tip: Top floor quieter and provides better views

Thank you very much for your opinion. Concerning the coffee, for groups we can't offer espresso, because the service will be longer....
See you next time.
