We had a good stay here. Viterbo is a great destination - quite unspoiled, medieval.

GOOD - lots of atmosphere, friendly in a slightly disorganized way.

For EURO 10 each we had 'aperitivo' on the roof terrace which was a bottle of chilled white wine and, basically, dinner for two. Sitting overlooking the old town with swallows flitting and the noise of the piazza filling up below, was quite magical.

Very central.

It's a medieval tower! What's not to like!

NOT SO GOOD - puzzling how to get in when we first arrived. Ring the bell at the big locked door, and hope someone answers!

Room was dark.

Circular bath and shower under the eaves looked cute but was hard to get in and out of - not a place for anyone infirm.

Didn't take cards, as we found out on check out day so had a hike round town to find a bank with a functioning cash machine. So carry a wad if you stay there! That was a bit annoying.

Neither good nor bad but worth noting - One of the team (Giulia) has excellent English - one (Maria) none at all. Viterbo generally is not a town with a lot of English spoken. So be prepared to parla Italiano.

No car parking nearby - we found a free car park 10 minutes walk away.

I stayed at this place for a couple of days. The room we stayed in had only one little window which you could not open. Therefore, it was also sort of dark during the day as well. The room was also facing the street, can be quite loud in the evenings when people are out on the street. All in all, it's not a bad place to stay but I would probably not recommend it.

We stayed here last night. What an amazing place. We had a problem with the bathroom (lights would not work) it was a beautiful bathroom with a circlular bathtub, so she switched us to the other side of the tower. It was even bigger than the first - a full apartment with several bedrooms on several different level. a great experience that i would recommend again and again.

Guard tower transformed into a unique bed and breakfast by a local family who own the place for over 100 years.
We had the upper floor suite which expanded in 3 different levels. Great decoration. Quiet. The cake Julia baked for our breakfast was one of a kind.
If you don't mind climbing a few stairs, you'll definitely feel at home in this classy, moderately priced, one-of-a-kind environment.

We have spent four nights over Easter and we had an amusing time. The old medieval tower is a very elegant and comfortable place, just around the corner from the Pope's Palace.
The warm welcoming of Giulia and the fantastic home made cakes for breakfast have made our stay unforgettable. What a find!
