Cute little cabina on a working rancho in LaGarita. The hacienda is impressive and it has two surreys on the raised patio. They have goats, horses, chickens, and dogs. There are many species of birds and fruit trees galore. The hosts were very nice and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We even got to ride in a white horse drawn surrey ( which went to pick up the bride) down one of the main highways in Costa Rica. Terry was so knowledgeable about everything in the area. What would we have done without her. If you are looking for something like the old farms this has it all
Villa Rita is an easy run from the airport and convenient bus, taxi or drive to Atenas, Alajuela or Palmares as well as San Jose itself.
This is a superb place for those who want peace and quiet. There are some charming animals here: horses, cattle, goats beautiful chickens. There are Toucans, Oropendula, Laughing Falcons. The view to the North is magnificent and the swimming-pool enjoyable. Zoo Ave, the Chocolate Tour and the Orchid Garden are close by as are two excellent Ice-cream makers.
Nice place, nice people.
Very friendly family. Always ready to help with any questions. A working farm. Lots to observe. Convenient to bus stops. Stores in walking distance .
The house was nice and clean. The owners were very pleasant and speak good English. That was nice after week of language barriers. It is hard to find a place in Costa Rica due to no addresses, So make sure you get GPS and cell phone to call owner when you arrive in town. The house was pleasantly located on a small farm and they had beautiful horses and labs. It really was nice and a pleasant end to our trip across Costa Rica. The home is only 15mins from airport. It about 25 mins in to sanjose. If your looking for the city experience. There are great places to eat just down the road, very friendly community. Would recommend to any travelers!
