Firstly, dont be put off by the word cafe. This is a proper little restaurant, small and cosy and a place to have a full meal. Secondly, dont be put off by its outward appearance, which is unassuming to say the least. Once you get past these hurdles, you are in for a treat. Neither the waitress nor the owner/chef spoke a word of English, but went out of their way to explain things that we didnt understand on the menu, even bringing out the ingredients to show us where necessary, all done with good humour. All the food is fresh and everything is cooked from scratch, so expect to wait about 20-25 minutes for your meal if you dont have a starter, but it is well worth it. Other reviewers have commented on how superb the rice is. How good can rice be, you may ask. Well honestly, this is onto a different level. And all the food we had, two veggie starters and a chicken main dish, were just superb. The balance of flavours was fantastic in all three meals. And the small wine list is varied enough and very reasonable by French restaurant standards. We had a very acceptable bottle of Bordeaux red for 14 euros, and the whole meal including two starters and two mains, for less than 50 euros. Great food, great value.
