Six of us dined here, had four different meals. All were very tasty, with aromatic spices. All had deserts and they too were good. Seemed reasonably priced about 28 euros a head for two courses and wine. It is a very small restaurant and gets crowded later in the evening, so may be an idea to book in advance.

We found this restaurant thanks to prior reviews on Trip Advisor. As we walked in the door a local French man came in behind us and told us that we had chosen a very good restaurant. It's always nice to get a local endorsement.

The Afghan Cafe lives up to its prior reviews. It is a small but comfortable space. The proprietors were very friendly and the waitress was very patient with my schoolgirl French. We chose two starters, two main courses and a bottle of wine, all very reasonbly priced as the bill came to less than 50 euro for the two of us. The food was simply but nicely presented. Everything was delicious, delicately spiced and full of flavour and we polished off every morsel which unfortunately meant that we had no room left to sample any dessert.

It was definitely the best meal that we had during our recent travels in France. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

This was near our hotel in a street with lots restaurants to choose from. It certainly didn't look the most inviting but as a previous reviewer said don't be put off by the word cafe. We chose this one because of it's interesting menu and were not disappointed. It is very cosy, the waitress was charming (very little English spoken but we got by)and had an excellent meal. Loved the tea which we had to finish off our meal, it was delicious (I think a fusion of lemon and honey). Would go back.

We tried the Afghan Cafe after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not dissapointed. It's not very large so I guess it may be difficult to get a table at busy times. The food was varied and very tasty, lots of different flavours, although the dessert of 'Afghan cake' was a little dissapointing - but different. The waitress was very friendly and the service was good, certainly worth trying (we would certainly go again). We had a very nice 3 course evening meal for two, including two beers each, for 41 euros - not bad value at all.

Firstly, dont be put off by the word cafe. This is a proper little restaurant, small and cosy and a place to have a full meal. Secondly, dont be put off by its outward appearance, which is unassuming to say the least. Once you get past these hurdles, you are in for a treat. Neither the waitress nor the owner/chef spoke a word of English, but went out of their way to explain things that we didnt understand on the menu, even bringing out the ingredients to show us where necessary, all done with good humour. All the food is fresh and everything is cooked from scratch, so expect to wait about 20-25 minutes for your meal if you dont have a starter, but it is well worth it. Other reviewers have commented on how superb the rice is. How good can rice be, you may ask. Well honestly, this is onto a different level. And all the food we had, two veggie starters and a chicken main dish, were just superb. The balance of flavours was fantastic in all three meals. And the small wine list is varied enough and very reasonable by French restaurant standards. We had a very acceptable bottle of Bordeaux red for 14 euros, and the whole meal including two starters and two mains, for less than 50 euros. Great food, great value.
