This is one of the oldest restaurants in the town and upmarket with linen table cloths and napkins. It was pretty busy when we ate there and imagine at peak times you need to book in advance. The location is great on the quayside

Our food was excellent chosen from the set menu fish soup escargots with sea bass to follow perfectly filleted and served. But something missing from this restaurant. Whilst service was prompt it felt like staff were on pilot going through the motions. Not a smile or enquiry which lets it down. Our bill was about 100 euros including a bottle of rather good Cassis white wine which we thought good value for the quality of food eaten

It was a public holiday weekend, so everywhere wa busy wig masses of tourists. Chez Gilbert found a table for us. The staff were helpful and obliging as they could, possibly be to someone with less than satisfactory French speaking skills.

The fresh fish was ver pay nice, but the speciality of the house is Bouillebaisse. The wines come in various sizes. Credit cards are accepted but not AMEX.

Prices on a par with the area/region. A little more expensive than some.

Although there are many dining choices along the harbor walkway, we choose Chez Gilbert because it appeared to a bit more upscale – white table clothes and wonderful menu items.

We were most pleased with the quality and taste of the formal lunch that we were served. The main dishes for our party of three included langouste, melody of fish soup, and grilled beef – all were perfectly cooked and very tasty. Nice rosé wine to accompany the mean. Appetizer and dessert were also wonderful.

We really enjoyed our leisurely meal, while gazing out over the beautiful harbor and watching people and boats move about. The wait staff was excellent.

We highly recommend Chez Gilbert.

We were recommended by a chese merchant to try Chez Gilbert in the harbour. There are loads of restaurants lining the harbour and we were not sure which to choose. We definitely picked a winner! The food was awesome. We chose the 40 Euro menu. There were four courses, the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. The desserts were marvellous. We were a family of six adults and three infants. It was quite a sight trying to amuse the infants without disturbing the patrons. The owner and staff were very accommodating. We orders an excellent bottle of crisp Cassis wine and left with take away containers. (This is not done in France; but one family left without consuming their lunch because of the tiredness of their kids).
We ate inside. The washrooms are on the second floor; if mobility is an issue; ask if there are ground floor facilities. My favourite course was the appetizer I chose- four gras and the dessert of rum baba with fresh whipped cream and succulent fresh fruit.
