“Oh dear”

The decor is superb, lovely views. Food was ok, but as you would expect for that price. But oh dear, oh dear the couldn't spell service let alone deliver it. The rude unfriendly staff found everything was too much, from being rudely told to 'wait' when we wanted to order, to being told when we asked for a carafe of water for the third time for the children that 'why don't you order all of your drinks together'. Complained nothing off the bill, a half gesture of a free drink, left and won't be recommending this or be going back. If arriving with 5 people instead of 7 we had booked we were shoved from the large table we had to a small table, I asked if we could stay on the table as was told a definite 'non', for two minutes later some French people of 5 being given the same table! There are plenty of other better restaurants.

This place is beautifully decorated - a real cosy lodge, excellently designed. Unfortunately the service we received didn't match the environment. It took 2 hours to be served 2 courses, and we were with our 7 year old who was clearly flagging. There appeared to be only 2 waiters on duty on what was a busy Friday night and the staff just couldn't cope. The food was good, not excellent and the decor just doesn't do enough to make this experience any more than poor.

A warm and wonderful atmosphere awaits once you get your skies off and clamber in. WE met friends who drove up from Les Gets. Toasty hot, glamorous waitress, only one grumpy waiter who welcome us with a "the kitchen shuts in 2 minutes" the glam waitress told us not to hurry or worry. special of the say was langoustine risotto - wonderful! Steak and chips also v good. Plate of meat and cheese well presented and despite the grumpy start we had a lovely lunch. It's a short green run down to Les Gets if you are reluctant to leave or get a lift!

Thank Tigerwould!

Perfect lunchtime stop. A welcome break from the usual average mountain hut.

Interiors stunning with food to match. Roaring fire and blankets to keep you warm.
