We had a pleasant time at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was extremely nice, especially the bathtub which is very modern. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the slope so it is ski in ski out.

This is by far the nicest ski-resort hotel we have ever stayed in. The rooms are luxurious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast is delicious and the dinner is michelin star quality. The staff are super helpful and lovely. Tignes is lovely but I'm almost glad it's a rainy day, so we can just stay in and enjoy the cosy suite. The spa area is great too. We will definitely be coming back.

It's not clear until you arrive just how lovely this hotel is - the photo's certainly don't do it justice. Probably because it treads a fine line between opulently tasteful and over the top tacky but once you're inside you realise it's just completely beautifully done and so lovingly executed that it's really fully in the tasteful camp.

And the experience is almost a Bond-movie version of a luxury ski hotel - the rugs, the scale and proportion of the furniture, the real timber beams - it's all wonderfully sumptuous and luxe. The service is good - the team all friendly and good looking and multi-lingual and good at anticipating what your needs are likely to be if you've arrived for a week's skiing.

The rooms are great - comfortable beds, lots of space, lovely hi-tech bath/jacuzzi thing - just missed enough hanging space for all the stuff that needs to hang when you're skiing... surely an easy fix though.

We had a meal plan so had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and it was great. Friendly crowd of servers all really helpful and built a rapport with over the course of the week. Nice menu for breakfast and dinner - maybe slightly on the fine-dining side to eat at for 6 nights but I guess many guests will just eat there once and so for that it's great.

And then all skiing requirements well taken care of with easy to access cupboards etc. And a wonderful spa with large pool, hot tub, sauna etc - massive by any ski hotel standards.

Can highly recommend and would love to go back - we had a wonderful time.

The hotel is well situated in Val Claret and there is a possibility of leaving your ski equipment in a ski shop close to the slopes, which is very convenient. The rooms are spacious in comparison with other hotels in French Alps. The SPA/swimming pool/ fitness area is very nice and well equiped. There is a nice bar in the hotel with a good choice of cocktails. The breakfast is excellent. The only problem was the Wi-Fi connection which was basically impossible during the first three days of our stay (afterwards got better, but was still slow). Despite that very annoying detail, the overall impression of the hotel was very pleasant, we spent a wonderful vacation there.

We arrived fairly late at night and were shown into a room which probably was 25square metres as advertised but it seemed very cramped and had a bizarre bathroom which was clearly a previous cupboard as it had no door. For the price I really would have expected a bath too. (it only had a shower) I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that some of the suites appeared to have been divided in two and the fire exit map seemed to confirm this. We were very disappointed given the price. In the morning we had no hot water at all. The reception manager merely assumed that we had not run the tap for long enough (How long is long enough - 10 minutes?) and after various visits finally agreed that we had no hot water. When we went to breakfast it was a shambles, they forgot our order and we had to leave at a certain time - so no breakfast, Three tables had not been cleared nearby and the staff seemed totally disorganised. However on complaining about all this mercifully we were upgraded -( to be fair at the same price) to a different room - a suite. There was simply no comparison - it was large, had hot water and was very comfortable so whatever you do - don't book a room, pay a little more for a suite. The strange thing was that the suite was not that much more expensive and was double the size.

Dinner, unlike breakfast was delicious although not cheap.
My further criticism though was that the reception staff were rude and unhelpful at times (very surly about printing out an airline boarding pass) I also thought to charge us 21 euros a day for parking, when we were already paying 475 euros per night for our room was an irritant that we could have done without. I suggest that they include that in the price. Overall the suite was lovely but the staff were not as civil or helpful as I would have expected from a 5 star hotel.
