Our stay here was very pleasant: old world charm, beautiful rooms, delicious eggs benedict for breakfast, lush garden where you can sit an enjoy a glass of wine. It is a very short walk to the pier and village shops. Hosts are very respectful.

This was a beautifully restored home and has been running as a B&B for about 15 years, according to the André, part-owner. The rooms are beautifully decorated/appointed. The mattress in our room was extremely hard and a difficult adjustment for us who are accustomed to more padding. The bathroom was well supplied with plenty of towels, shampoo/conditioner, cotton balls and Q-tips as well as a blow-dryer. Free wi-fi is advertised as being available throughout the house but neither of us could get reception in our room with either of our iPhones nor with our iPad. We had to go downstairs to the foyer to get reception. The B&B is situated at one end of the island (Sainte-Petronille, which in my opinion is the prettiest part), a few minutes drive from the only bridge onto the island, and only one of two B&Bs in the area, so a very practical and beautiful location. Although there are no views of the water from the rooms, the views onto the garden are pretty. There is a dedicated parking spot for each of the three rooms.

The owners, Denise & André, were very likeable and friendly. André prepared flavourful breakfasts with local produce. One word of advice/warning for those with big appetites - the breakfasts are extremely TINY. Compared to all the other B&Bs we have stayed at, this was by far the tiniest breakfast (Day 1: half an english muffin with one egg, sauteed mushrooms & toast preceded by a little plate of sliced blueberries, strawberries, orange and apples - Day 2: Two skinny (1" thick) rolled-up crepes, two slices of fruit, sauteed sliced apples and sauce & toast). One of the other couples staying there was very dismayed with the portions and left hungry. My spouse and I were okay but we paced ourselves while we ate and were certainly not full. After all these years running as a B&B and certainly not the most affordable on the island, they should focus a little more on the "Breakfast" part of their B&B equation. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant place to stay.
