Remarkably comfortable bed for a German hotel, most are like sleeping on concrete, so well done to Klostermuhle, just need some proper pillows but it was a nice big airy room, one of the nicer places I've stayed in Germany.

Just be aware that you appear to be able to pay by card, but in fact this is only accepted for your room. Meals and drinks must be paid for in cash. We were unable to find out why and thankfully (unusually) had cash as we don't normally carry cash on business trips. It would have been nice to be told first as there was obviously a card machine at the bar so it came as a shock to not be able to use the card to pay.

That said, the food was lovely, really nicely prepared and tasty and the service was friendly and prompt too,

I would stay here again.

Room tip: I liked the rooms overlooking the water, some reviewers actually complain about being able to hear the river & waterfall, but I liked that.

We stayed a night on the way to France. Very charming old mill with the pond and all. Nice walks in the quiet surroundings. The dog was welcomed in the restaurant where we had a nice dinner and a buffet breakfast. Perhaps not the greatest gourmet place but good value for the money. The rooms where clean, comfortable and newly renovated.

Our son just got back from a 15 month tour in Iraq and is stationed in Germany, Since he had some time off for leave. My husband and I decided to take our vacation to Germany to see him back from Iraq and to enjoy what Germany had to offer with him, since he did not have any time in Germany before he was sent to Iraq. My husband got on the internet and start looking for places for us to stay and came across this place. Since we like to enjoy and smaller towns than the big cities, we thought we would give this place a try. Since we were a little jet lag, we had a hard time finding the place. But, keep an open mind, we were not familiar with the area and it was getting late and hard to see the roads since it was getting dark. So try to get there a little early. We finally found the place. It was a quaint little place, very charming, we check in, but since we were tired, did not know that they did not have a lift to take us to our room. Will not recommended this for people with disabilities. But we enjoyed our stay anyway. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very nice. i would recommened this place to any one who would like to be away for the bigger city hotels. We decided to have dinner after our rest. We went down to the hotet restaurant for a bite to eat. The staff was very friendly, and the food was excellent. We totally enjoyed the meal. There is a wine cellar at the bottom of the hotel, after a fine meal we went to the cellar for a few drinks. We had just a good time their. After seeing the country side the rest of our trip, and we always came back for dinner here and a few drinks at the wine cellar. We said it was the best part of the day, to relaxed and have dinner and than have a few drinks with the locals. A most enjoyable time. I would recommend this place to any one who needed a place to stay while visiting Germany. Thanks for a great time.

We stopped at the Klostermuhle for one night on the way down to Lake Constance and were impressed. The room was large, clean and well furnished and breakfast was a good quality buffet served in a pleasant dining room.
As we arrived in the late afternoon we were able to spend some time in the beer garden in the sunshine- very pleasant, bottles only but good selection.
We ate at the hotel restaurant had had the best meal of our holiday, the swabian specialities were superb and at a reasonable cost.
The location is distinctive- next to a large old mill which it appears has been converted into flats, there were no wagons or noise and no sign of industrial activity.
The staff were very friendly and there is even a bar in the cellar with a very garrulous barmaid!
The only downside was the absence of a lift for those who need one.
Overall agreat place to stop over, with everything you need, nice people, and plenty of character.
