We stayed here in May 2018. The hotel staff - especially the three women we encountered in reception during our stay - were incredibly warm and welcoming. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The shower pressure is amazing here! The breakfast buffet had a lot of great options - and they were very good about refilling the different stations. The location is great - right off the main road so it is very close to restaurants and has a grocery store across the street. We walked to the castles in less than 25 minutes - it was gorgeous easy walk. On a quiet, rainy Sunday night we played guess who and drank wine (which the nice lady up front helped us open) in the common area. They do have laundry at an affordable price, but the dryer does take some time to get clothes dry. We ended up drying the clothes on the balcony - no big deal.

This hotel is a very nice, mid-size hotel. The pictures of the room on their website were exactly what our room looked like, very nice and cozy. The restaurant was not open while we were there, but we did walk across the road to a very good Italian restaurant for dinner. There are a few other restaurants within walking distance. It is only a 5 minute drive to the Visitor Center for the castles (Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau). Schwangau itself is a very small town and there was not much going on. We were there during Easter week and it was not very busy - many restaurants and stores were closed. We only stayed at this hotel one night, but it was so charming I would have loved to stay longer. Our room had a nice small balcony, with a view of Neuschwanstein. We enjoyed a few beers (purchased from the grocery store across the street) on our balcony in the evening. It was very clean, and nothing looked old or worn. The beds were comfortable, a bit on the firm side and the pillows ample. We had read there was a sauna, so we set off to find it after dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised! It is a two story spa area, with a changing room with lockers (no locks), towels and robes. There is a sauna and a steam room. Water is available and there are some very nice tiled, HEATED loungers for relaxing. Nice relaxing new age music playing. It was later when we went, but it looks like they offer spa services, such as massage, during the day. Use of the sauna and steam room was included in our stay, no extra charges! It was very clean and it was super relaxing. The included breakfast was very nice. Choices of yogurt, bread and meats/cheeses, Nutella (happy kid), fruit, hard boiled eggs and delicious coffee and juices. On site parking included. I HIGHLY recommend this sweet hotel for your visit.

We accidentally drove right past the hotel on our way into Schwangau but it was very easy to turn back around and we were able to enter the parking lot from the back! We both loved the woman who greeted us at reception - she was very nice and funny. Our room was adorable and quiet. This is a great location for both walking around town and visiting the castle.

The hotel is very nice, also if from outside could look a bit old style inside is good and rooms are comfortable and modern. The housekeeping service is great, they are very clean and fast. The breakfast is delicious with enough choices. It's very near to the castles, you can decide to walk or drive. The spa is wonderful. Unfortunately the WiFi is very unstable, slow and cannot be detected in all hotel. Morover they do not provide room sleepers and if you request it you have to pay 3€ each pair.

We stayed for just 3 days (Valentine's day) and even there was some refurbishment going on in some areas of the hotel we had a great time.
Reasonably priced, clean, lots of facilities and rich breakfast. And our room with view of the Castles was perfect.
Shame we couldn't stay longer to enjoy sauna and spa
