My four star rating is purely based on the cuisine itself.
Casa Toscana is rather a more civilized option if one is staying at the Wild Coast Sun. The meals are decadent and indulgent as well as satisfying the pasta craving with a touch of homeliness. Visitors should note that to arrive at the restaurant one must navigate an untarred dirt road, which in the evening could be a task for a sedan.
however on arrival you are welcomed by a friendly car guard. Seated in a warm ambient environment. The owner is well informed and friendly and really sells the menu and the specials. Very accommodating to the vegan guests as well. The waitress could take a note from his service with a smile book.
The starter bruschetta was delightful. A decent wine list. The penne puttanesca with pancetta was divine and certainly hit the spot. though slightly skint on the pancetta. I did have a bit of food envy when the lamb tortelli dish arrived. parcels of lamb and asparagus in butter and rosemary. My prosecco went down quite well. The venue is romantic but also suitable for a family dinner. Bathrooms clean. I do think that perhaps a lot of guests might find the menu on the pricey side for the non city dwellers. However the quality and flavour profile of the meal is outstanding. For a flavour overload - a must visit.
