My four star rating is purely based on the cuisine itself.
Casa Toscana is rather a more civilized option if one is staying at the Wild Coast Sun. The meals are decadent and indulgent as well as satisfying the pasta craving with a touch of homeliness. Visitors should note that to arrive at the restaurant one must navigate an untarred dirt road, which in the evening could be a task for a sedan.

however on arrival you are welcomed by a friendly car guard. Seated in a warm ambient environment. The owner is well informed and friendly and really sells the menu and the specials. Very accommodating to the vegan guests as well. The waitress could take a note from his service with a smile book.

The starter bruschetta was delightful. A decent wine list. The penne puttanesca with pancetta was divine and certainly hit the spot. though slightly skint on the pancetta. I did have a bit of food envy when the lamb tortelli dish arrived. parcels of lamb and asparagus in butter and rosemary. My prosecco went down quite well. The venue is romantic but also suitable for a family dinner. Bathrooms clean. I do think that perhaps a lot of guests might find the menu on the pricey side for the non city dwellers. However the quality and flavour profile of the meal is outstanding. For a flavour overload - a must visit.

Went for dinner in the evening, which is a bit if a pity, the location is pretty and night have been better for lunch. My son and husband had steak which they enjoyed, the real winner though was the pasta. Both my daughter and I had pasta and it was really outstanding! Recommend popping in for a meal, was very enjoyable.

We have been to Casa Toscana 3 times and always enjoyed it. Dow here on holiday and couldn't wait to go again so booked for lunch on 3rd Dec,just after the restaurant opened after pre-season break. Mario (owner ??) had that morning apparently ordered the tar road to the place to be dug up. There were holes right across the road plus sharp pieces of tar. Old tar was piled up and workers were flinging it around. We managed to navigate that but found that the driveway to the farm has deteriorated to such an an extent that a 4x4 or truck would be useful. There was no sign of activity so after an animated discussion (I was very disapointed) we turned around and went back before the road was further destroyed. Surely we could have been warned by management about this situation?

Good day, thank you for finding the time to write your opinion.

We are definitely aware of the bad condition of our access road to the extent that we decided to repair it at our own cost even if it is a provincial road.

Unfortunately when you are dealing with external contractors and weather conditions it is almost impossible to warn our customers in time about the road works.

On Saturday however, the day of your troubled visit to us, we have been quite busy and fortunately we haven't received any other complain.

As most people are aware of, we are on a farm and farm roads are heavily subject to weather and need continuous maintenance, which is what we are trying to do.

Hopefully next time you come everything will be in order.

The food is still very good but as we are nearing the holidays the priround while the prices went up a lot. Comparing to other upmarket restaurants on the South Coast this is just too much. The place became over staffed with a lot of statues standing around while the owner runs around.
