You pay €20 extra to get sea view. My advice is to bring your own dynamite to remove trees that covers the entire view.

You expect a room to be ready at check in time, but might be severely disappointed as we were. They told us that our rooms would be ready in 30 minutes and an hour later it would be ready in 10 minutes? They didn't do anything to remedy the situation. At the very least invite us to enjoy the spa in the mean time or put in an extra effort to clean a specific room. Just do something, don't meet us with your blank inocent looking eyes.

You might expect the promised fruit bowl when you finally get into the room, but instead you find a notice "With our compliments"? Free air with your compliments? Or what? We would please have liked some fruits with your compliments. Well we got them at dinner-time, when they weren't really relevant anymore.

At the morning buffet you might be interrogated by the waiter, as he suspect that we didn't have half pension. Instead of checking his list, I had to look through it and find our names. After I found our names, there was no appologies, just a "Then it's ok". WTF? You are basically accusing me of stealing from the buffet and no apologies?

The same waiter came and asked if he could take my plate while I was still eating, He didn't even sense my stare in disbelief.

Room Tip: Don't pay for the sea view, unless you only expect a few glimpses of water between the leaves of a huge tree.

We went to this hotel as we received as birthday gift a smart box. we chose this location becuase it looked promising in the brochure the service included. When we arrived, around 14:30 - 45 they said that the room is not ready and it should be in around 30 or 45 minutes (the check in was 15:00). we went around for a walk and after an hour we came back and still we had to wait for other 15 minutes. So, around 16 we checked.

We paid 20 euros extra as wanted with lake view but we got trees view and barely we could see the lake ,so waste of money.

In the room was no fruit basket waiting for us and the mineral water was not mineral ( in the hotel brochure said this will be included).

The dinner wasn't fancy and anything special.

In the morning, at breakfast they couldn't find our name in their papers and we had to find ourselves in their papers. that is not nice!!!they also disturbed us during breakfast for that!!!

The massage included wasn't good. My back hurted me afterwards all day long and could have been nice another massage:))))

Advice for the other potential guests: go to Gruening Hotel (Bad Bevensen) and you will feel really appreaciated and great as guests!!!the manager and the personnel there try their best to please you as customers and guests. The thermal spa there in the city is fantastic and you feel great!!!!

Advice for the hotel: is not only business is also about value!!

As far as hotels in the area, this is the best one around. A charming forgotten resort village with lots of opportunities for relaxation and fun for the kids in the summer, dog friendly. Enjoy activities on the lake or the many parks. We celebrated our wedding reception here and found this place to be a great value for a very large group of 70 international wedding guests, roughly 30 rented rooms and 1 dog. When asked about the swimming pool and spa, my nephew said “Es ist eine Paradis!” (Paradise!) We also got a chance to relax with a 70 minute message at China Liangste next door, what a treat! The breakfast has a wonderful selection and was very fresh everyday with a nice view on the lake. Our room was clean with lots of closet space. The only negatives were it is overall a little outdated, but even that was in a charming old European sort of way. The shower was small and outdated, upon check in we received a clunky heavy door key, (which we could leave at the front desk if we didn’t want to carry it around), and after one trip on the small elevator we decided to take the stairs as often as possible. However, the staff worked very hard to make everything for our party perfect, and the wedding cake was over the top beyond our expectations. The hotel was able to provide us with a projector and screen for a video/ photo slide show. All the guests were pleased, including the dog who had his own water bowl on the terrace. All of our needs were met and everything was a great value for what we got. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and the staff is so nice I will definitely come here again and again.

Room Tip: The rooms on the lake side have the best view, but how much time do you really spend in your room? If you want to save money stay on the park side, all rooms are generally quiet.

A good hotel for the discerning traveller. In a good position along the promanade. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the lake. It was clean, comfortable and spacious with a contemporary design. Buffet breakfast had a large selection with good quality food. We ate at the restaurant for dinner as it represented value for money with the extras thrown in (hors d'oeuvre and dessert). The leisure facilities were excellent. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed with our son's family who had a superior room for his two children. It was spacious without being expensive. We had room 68 for two people and my son had 67 a bedroom and sitting room.

We would have had the nicest rooms facing the lake and were happy. However the general areas and carpets are in need of attention.
