We did the guided tour yesterday @2pm (Friday, 13th August 2021) with tour guide Kevin. We all loved it from start to finish. Our 7 yr old loved hearing about the big house/castle and all of it's history. Seeing the remains of kitchens/pantry etc etc was fantastic. Not sure about the resident ghosts lol , but they did behave themselves. I saw a few ghosts roaming around/scowling at me/everyone on the guided tour. Such a beautiful place to visit and we will most definitely be back again very soon. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our tour guide Kevin was a historian with a great imagination and detailed knowledge of the history and the architecture of Duckett Grove. He took us into the lives of the family and their servants and brought the day to day running of this enormous house to life once more. Excellent tour and well worth a visit.

The delivery from our guide yest was such fun ,certainly will be letting people know of this free trip. On our doorstep and at last we ticked this one on our bucket list .
The info that there was money left to The Adelaide Hospital in Dublin warrants further investigation, having trained there over forty years ago .
Great fun afternoon including the wonderful walled gardens

I was very glad indeed to have the opportunity to show you around and share some of this fascinating history with you. The Adelaide Hospital connection is known. I didn't say she left money to it though. If you remember correctly, I stated she funded a wing during her lifetime. This was prior to WW1.

Kevin's tours (2pm & 4 pm) are excellent and highly recommended. He is a very good historian, an excellent guide and the house remains are very enjoyable. The tour is interesting, informative and a great introduction to the Carlow area.
