Description: Stop at Kafe Koala as you enjoy traveling around the Great Ocean Road. Visit Kennett River and enjoy the natural surroundings of Australian wildlife. See the Koalas close by (sometimes they wander into the shop) feed the King Parrots (yes they will eat out of your hand, bird seed available) or just enjoy the bush surrounds next to the beach. Drop into Kafe Koala for: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or just a snack or refreshment. Great coffee, juice and drinks, award winning pies and pasties, home made cakes and biscuits, fresh salads and sides, ice cream etc... We have it all. A trip down the Great Ocean Road just isn't the same without stopping at Kennett River, pop in and say g'day.

our main intention of stopping by this place is to view the koalas in the wild, which is along the Grey River Road. but along the way from Great Ocean Road to Melb, we couldnt find any lunch places as the time was already 3+, and upon reaching here, the kafe is still open! and to our great delight, the fish & chips (we got the flathead-something fish, as there were 2 fish options to choose from) was sooooo sooooooo good! i was never a f&c person, but the one here, had us re-ordered! LOL.. and just across the cafe was the Grey River Rd, where we were all soooooo entertained by the free-roaming, frenly (big) parrots, and feasted our eyes on quite a few of koalas!

but it'd definitely be better if there's toilet to be used, instead of walking to the caravan park (not far though).

in short, this kafe is more that meets the eye! it may not be beautifully decorated internally and externally, and might look more like a convenience store rather than a cafe, but the food is good! and the two older ladies serving us was very warm and friendly!

Been here quite a few times. Great little spot to stop for a coffee and see the birds and koalas along the great ocean road. Nice friendly staff. Can't say anything about the food as we've only ever grabbed a coffee and birdseed.

We visited in July and there was a koala in the small tree at the front of the cafe. Great for photos and kids were very excited to see one so close. Food was well priced and the hot chips were delicious.

we quite often go here on our motorbike for breakfast but the rest of their meals are good too. Coffee is yummo, only own side is there is no toilet on site, you have to go into the caravan park and use theirs.

I first stopped here many years ago and since then the Cafe has moved up. It does and excellent breakfast and very good coffee and cakes.

The koala the name refers to are up a nearby road, ask at the Cafe for directions.

Toilets are in a nearby holiday park.

Just close by are a couple of trees where parrots of some variety are easily tempted down to feed from your hand, although this is not to be encouraged, lots of visitors do this..
