We stayed here for our 2 weeks holiday. The hotel has good and bad parts. I am gonna talk a bit about the good parts.
First of all, the room was very clean and we had everything we needed in the bathroom. The cleaning personal was very polite. The personal from the reception was also very polite. Another good part of the hotel was the very big and very clean pool. The beach is in front of the hotel and the water is clean.
Now it is time for me to talk about bad parts. First of all the restaurant was a disaster. The breakfast was poor and tasteless , we ate the same thing every single morning, and believe me that it was really annoying. It doesn’t matter if the price for breakfast is a little bit higher as long as the food is good and diverse.
The lunch and dinner food was not tasty at all. We love Italian cuisine, but in this restaurant we didn’t find anything from it. The food was thrown on the plate like for poor people and not for the guests of the hotel. I will attach a photo just to see how it looked like my plate at lunch on the day of Ferragosto, and it was disgusting. And I would really want to know if the management of the hotel would enjoy such garbage plate.
We also found dirty plates at breakfast. The tables were not properly cleaned.
The rules for the pool are written only in Italian language, but Italian is not an international language and the guests are from all over the world. It was forbidden to go into the pool without a hair protection, but still there were people who didn’t respect this. It was forbidden to jump into the pool and splash, but also this rule was not respected. The music at the pool was way to loud and it was like this for all day long and even till late in the night. It was also a late and loud private party at the pool that was very annoying.
Also, the access to the swimming pool is denied to the people who are not guests of the hotel, but still some personal from the restaurant bring their friends to the pool.
From my point of view the rules are made to be respected by everyone.
I don’t know if we will ever stay here again but I definitely know that we will never eat again in this “gorgeous” restaurant.

Ara Solis is a very nice property with good view of the bay, good service and good food. The location is some distance to Taranto and the train station. If you want to tour the area a rental car is a must.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Ara Solis. While we were only there for two nights, we could see this would be a great place for a longer stay. We were greeted by very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Our room was very large and overlooked the water which made for wonderful sunset pictures! We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant the first night and had a great meal. Our second night, which happened to be New Year's Eve was a different story. We asked at the desk about dinner but found out a big party was scheduled (we should have realized that) however we weren't actually "party ready". We asked about room service and while it would not normally have been available due to the party, they accommodated us anyway with an antipasti and a pasta dish delivered to us so we could relax in our room. Listening to the sounds of the ocean was very soothing. The only issue we had was the hotel was previously located in downtown Taranto and our GPS directed us there when you put in the hotel name. We changed to the address and had no problem finding the hotel. We would definitely recommend and would stay there again.
