We caught the train from Pembroke Dock to Carmarthen. The town centre is a short walk from the train station. After a coffee, shopping at Merlin's Walk Shopping Centre and St Catherine's Walk Shopping Centre. There are long established locally run shops as well as High Street names. But it is the market in the "heart of the town" that gives Carmarthen its real character and charm. A range of stalls selling locally produced meats, fruit and vegetables, cheeses and cakes. Also arts and crafts, antiques and jewellery.
