Owner description: The Causeway Coastal Route is a designated scenic tourist drive around the coast of Northern Ireland between the cities of Belfast and Londonderry. The route follows the coast and takes you to several major tourist attractions along the way including The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Glens of Antrim. There are also nine scenic loop roads that run off the main Coastal Route. These are: Islandmagee, Slemish Mountain, Glenariff, Glendun, Torr Road, Glenshesk, Bann Valley, Binevenagh Mountain and the Roe Vally. One of these (Torr Scenic Road)is quite narrow so do be careful if your not used to our small roads, one tip is to pull in your wing mirrors on the Torr Road.

Really beautiful scenery - sea on one side and the hills and cliffs to the other. Something new to watch for the entire journey. We finished at Ballintoy and you won't find a lovelier spot anywhere in the world. A very calm day so the crashing waves were absent but you can't have perfection every time. Long, long walk along to Whitepark Bay and the bluebells and primroses were amazing. How they flourish in such an inhospitable environment is beyond me. Had a picnic overlooking the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge (walked across it many years ago - a bit scarry but worth doing).
Fabulous journey and well worth taking your time for.

We rented a car at Belfast Airport in order to do our own tour of the coast. Very easy to navigate (with help from GPS) We were able to see all the sights we wanted to see in one day. A most amazing trip!

We had such a nice drive around the route on or visit to Carrick o Rede Rope Bridge and Giants Causeway

It seemed like every corner you turned you were a little more blown away by more sceneary or jealous of the beautiful houses perched on the cliff edge looking down at idyllic coves.

The roads are so well maintained and a pleasure to drive on :)

The vistas and small towns along the way are awesome sights. We stopped lots of times to take photos. Our ultimate destination was Giant's Causeway but we found Dark Hedges and Dun Luce Castle by chance and enjoyed every twist and turn. Take it slow and enjoy the journey.

We started at the Giant's Causeway - National (mis-) Trust. Dreadful scam. But then took the coastal route down to Larne, with several inland diversions via the glens. We had amazing weather. Really was wonderful! Do try it !
