My twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the train over the water to Birkenhead from Liverpool and visit some of the great pubs over the River Mersey then jump the ferry back to Liverpool but before boarding the ferry we dropped by Gallaghers Pub & Barbers ,a pub we always look forward to visiting .
This pub looks superb, if your interested in military memorabilia this pub is definitely worth checking out, the pub is festooned with all items pertaining to militaria ,great decor and furnishings, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport, an upstairs area and a brilliant outside seating area, this is were we chose to sit on a roasting hot Thursday afternoon.
We chose a cider from Father Jim's Brewery, served in pristine condition, we settled down and soaked up the sunshine while sipping our cider's.
My cider was really good, a crisp, effervescent cider that on a really hot afternoon certainly cut through the thirst, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew.
We really enjoyed our cider's in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on to catch our ferry and as on every other visit to Gallaghers Pub & Barbers we had a marvellous time.
