Late need to travel, so booked on-line taking heed of reviews. Very happy with everything. We arrived late, so weren't worried that the room was described as a "small double", but it was perfectly acceptable. The bed was comfortable, so had a good night after a longish drive. Breakfast was very good too. Would definitely use again.

We stayed for one night and had a lovely meal in the restaurant.
The food quality was excellent, the room is a good size, clean and comfortable bed.
Shower was good and good choice for beverages to have in your room.
Breakfast is good and plenty of choices for everyone. All cooked well and generous portions.
The staff are really helpful and friendly too.

Clean room, very comfortable bed, good location for touring Warwickshire, next to a busy road so some traffic noise, but not enough to keep you awake.
Lovely food, very generous portions, the 'large' faggots was very filling, be warned. Small would have been fine! Breakfast was absolutely spot on, cereal, juice, yoghurt, large choice of cooked breakfasts, I had the full English both days. Saturday's breakfast was good, but Friday's was better, so well done Friday chef!
Well-kept selection of hand-pulled beers, including a Throckmorton Pale by Marstons.
Extensive outdoor patio/decking at the rear of the hotel was a great place to enjoy a pre- and then post-dinner beer, watching the sun go down.
Staff were all very friendly and efficient. All in all, a pretty faultless experience.

My husband and I had a fantastic 3-night stay at The Throckmorton over the bank holiday weekend. It was our first holiday for a long time and couldn't have wanted for more. We had room number 1, with fantastic views across the field and spotted a deer and heron from the window on our first night. We needed the windows open at night as it was very warm, but were otherwise very comfortable. Plentiful teas and coffees in the room and the bed turned down each day.

Breakfasts were delicious! We had the full English and smoked haddock & egg and all components were great. Nice to have 'proper' decaff coffee on offer too! Nothing was too much hassle for the staff and they were always very polite and friendly.

We ate two dinners at The Throckmorton: the Friday early-bird fish & chip offer and the Sunday roast. Both were of very high standard and brilliant value. Beautiful flaky fish, perfectly cooked, tasty chips and an indulgent sticky toffee pudding. 3-course Sunday roast was top notch too. I would have preferred crispier roasties, but the meat (beef) was some of the best I've ever had in a Sunday dinner.

Sundeck offers fab outdoor seating for catching some rays and enjoying a drink. Throckmorton's own pale ale is very good!

The inn is located well for country walks nearby and just over the road from the beautiful Coughton Court. About 50 min walk into Alcester.

Overall, an excellent stay in a comfy room, with great food and fantastic staff. Everyone was very COVID aware, which was reassuring. We hope to return!

Room tip: Room 1 has great views over the fields

Well worth using as a base to get to so many places. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The room is comfy and clean and tidy. The restaurant breakfast was tasty and we used it for our evening meal too. Lots of national trust properties in the area!
