Description: Our beautiful pub is located in the stunning village of Stockton. We are very much a traditional English pub that offers a range of fine Real Ales. We are not a restaurant or Gastropub, Friday is all about the Fish, fresh Cod caught the evening before delivered to us straight from the boat fried to perfection using our very own beer batter. Please phone in advance as this is very popular. We like to support local and micro breweries with a wide selection of real ales always available. We pride ourselves on the way we keep our beers and you can always try before you buy. We have had many people tell us that we have the best beer garden in Wiltshire! The only problem is people didn't realise we had one. We are located close to the A36 and the A303, so if you are heading down to the West Country on holiday on returning north then please follow the signs towards Wylye/Stockton. We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful traditional English country pub. We only offer food on Friday evening during the summer months, however we always have a good range of snacks available.

Under new management and welcoming. First time staying as an overnight guest. Room was ok (slightly musty) but landlord's welcome was arm and he couldn't do enough. Has only been there 11 weeks and I wish him well. The Carriers is a firm favourite as a watering hole for those of us who visit Stockton regular to visit friends and the village deserves to have a thriving pub.

Just visited the Carriers with my Partner his daughter and son in law we have had a lovely evening with excellent food. The owner and his wife are so friendly, the home cooked food is superb with the most generous helpings. The locals around the bar engaged as we left. We know the Publican and his wife have only been in situ for nine weeks and we wish them every success and we will be going back. If your in the area looking for good pub food go no further than The Carriers.

Went here today after finding it after a morning out is Langford Lakes. Very welcoming and really nice roast, lots of meat and plenty of vegetables, good value at £12 a head.
Nice garden at the back, would definitely go back. Thank you.

The Carriers is a friendly and welcoming old fashioned pub in a beautiful part of the world. A great atmosphere, wonderful pretty garden with pond and pool table for a bit of competitive play. The staff, landlord and landlady couldn't be more helpful and welcoming along with the locals who frequent it. A must visit if in the Wylye Valley. A little haven to withdraw to from the fast pace of of life!

Hardly ever open, only food on offer revolting microwaved pie & chips occasionally in the rare evenings it open. Yuk. Just drive a couple of miles up the road & visit The Prince Leopold in Upton Lovell, yum yum yum!!!

We are sorry you did not have a good experience when you visited us. We are a small real ale pub and only serve food on a Friday evening, Our menu is small and consists of fresh fish and locally made pies. All our meals are cooked fresh to order.
If you had told us at the time that you were not happy with your food we would have most definitely have tried to resolve this for you.
