As we live in Thailand we were looking for somewhere special for our second Honymoon and we certainly found it at the Haven Resort. We were on a Bed and Breakfast Tarrif 3 nights in a Haven Villa and 4 nights in a Haven Suit. The Villa was excelent the Jacuzzi on the sundeck was especialy enjoyable the steps down to the lagoon gave a marvelous access to a lagoon that was delightful to swim and snorkle or just simply sit and look in to watching the many types of fish including reef Sharks Sting Rays and Manta Rays not to mention the many other coulourful examples of tropical fish that swam by all the time. if we thought the Villa was excelent it faded when we moved to the Haven Suite, Lying in bed watching the waves crashing in to the reef was out of this world the private swimming pool with colour changing lights was a wonder to see in the evening as we sat with a cocktail watching the moon rising in a clear star lite night. We ate at 4 of the 5 available restraunts and every meal was delicious the Italian restraunt was very good indeed, in the evening we would have a drink at the main bar, and after one visit they remembered our drinks and room number. My wife and I swam and snorkled at the reef every day and no 2 days were the same.

This was by no means a cheap break and if you are loking for that then the Haven is not for you. although we did not stay in them the beach bungalows would not have been to our taste. the area they were in was mostly rough beach and tree lined gardens, we walked all round thwe Island and as i say were not impressed with these bungalows.. there were some that faced a lovely beach and lagoon on the harbour side of the island this beach was beautioful with white powder sand you associate the Maldives with. But if you are loking for a private holiday and you can afford it the Haven Suite is certainly the way to go.
Staff were Friendly and soon got to know us by name and room number
Food was excelent in all outlets we tried
Room service in the suite was quick and the food again was very good
the cleanleness of the suite was again excelent Towels were changed twice a day and the bed was turned down in the evening as well as the curtains and blinds closed
To sum up The Haven is a place for people that are looking for great service, Friendly staff, views that are to die for. comfort and luxury with Privacy. It is not for someone looking for a cheap break on a budget.
My wife and I certainly enjoyed our time at the Haven and are already planning our next visit.

So if you are looking for a water suite that you can walk down your steps and swim with sharks this is the placce for you. But go the extra way and pay fopr the suite I am sure you will agree it is worth the extra cost

Room Tip: Go for the Villa and upgrade to a suite

My husband and I thought we were booking a luxury overwater villa in the Maldives before a week on a dive boat and then for 2 days after the diveboat week. We realised we were in trouble when we arrived on the island and had to sit around for 60 minutes completing a guest registration card including all the details we had provided 6 mths ago when we booked AND fully paid for the stay. This was after a long flight from Vienna via Dubai. The room was adequate but luxury it was not, nothing other than 2 cakes of soap in the bathroom, all the plugs in the all the sinks and the bath on the deck were stuck so you could not empty the water The bath was on the deck with a view of the lagoon and a tealight holder beside it but alas, no candles or tealights were provided, nothing to put in the bath other than water which could not be emptied. Towels were threadbare. Only one dressing gown provided. There is a cultural thing with the staff saying yes to everything but it means nothing, don't expect your bags to arrive just because they say they will- ours took about 90 mins which was a litle tiresome after the long flight and the long wait in the bar while each person is allocated a room. We returned this morning after the week on the diveboat. So far, we have been waiting 2 hours in the bar but we will need to wait longer. We made no fewer than 5 different requests to upgrade our room (this time we did not have an overwater villa) but not one was acknowledged and we still don't have an answer. Someday we will get in our room... Problem is we thought we were coming to a luxury resort but this is a huge family resort aiming at the Japanese market. I would not mind if I had understood this when we booked but the blurb does not tell you it is basic, family oriented and with no concept whatsoever of service. Don't go there if you want a romantic or luxury break.

After lots of research we settled with the destination maldives as it was an exotic location and we both loved beaches...Though we dint expect the place/resort to look like in travel brochures...when we landed in maldives it just blew us away...
The crystal clear blue water...and the white beaches were a sight that took our breath away :)
As we waited for our speed boat to arrive, we started clicking pics as the place just was WOW...the boat ride wud be around 10 mins but we thoroughly enjoyed it!!
We were welcomed into the hotel with refreshing towels and asked to fill up a few forms..then were were handed over our keys and we were off to the room to cool ourselves off. Earlier i had called up many times asking for specific rooms but the hotel denied these request (which was disappointing). But as i saw the view from the room i was very happy!!
We then went in for lunch and were alloted our table and waiter were we will be seated thruout our stay. The beverages (incl water) needs to be bought seperate...so taht was additional cost..but we expected this from the earlier reviews and wasnt a prob for us.
We then went for a walk over the island...and found that our rooms had one of the best views...some rooms i think towards the northern side of the island..had really bad views...
We had also taken up some of the liesure trips like the submarine trip and the dolphin trip which we thouroughly enjoyed. These trips are a bit costly. but we felt it was worth it!
The rest of the days we lazed around the beach...swam around the corals and did a lil bit of snorkeling too :) :)

My husband and I went to this resort for hour honeymoon on the 18th April for a week. It was terrible from the start.
We arrived around 11.30 pm. We were given a welcome drink and after the drink we were given the room keys and told us to find the room our selves while there were 5 workers just having a chat … crap guest service. We were put in a beach bungalow next to a generator room. So it was so noisy all the time.
When we complained it to the supervisor the next day all she had to say was sorry. At the end we requested to have moved to another beach bungalow.
Very commercialised… they try to ripe you off for everything and anything possible… spa treatments are so much more expensive that what I pay here in Sydney.. Prices are over the double of what we pay back home.
Just to play badminton, it was $12 per person to rent rackets, and $3 for the shuttlecock, and $20 for one hour to hire the court. This explained why the tennis and badminton courts were absolutely empty throughout our stay. No one played any sports because it cost so much

The only good part was the food.

If you are planning to go to Maldives, I advise you to do bit of research before you book the resort and see what they offer in the package.

I think it is my responsibility to write this review in the interest of any and all planning a vacation in Maldives. We - my wife, sone (5 years) and daughter (7 months) stayed at Paradise for 4 days last week, and this has been one of the best vacations we had. Very friendly staff, grreat rooms, amazing location, if you are interested in scuba - the delphi diving center instructors and equipment is great, great water for snorkeling, reasonable food (not great)

What can be better: housekeeping service, some activity center for small kids of age 3-10
