Stayed here for two nights. Got a room at the front with a bay window. Room very bright and spacious. Huge and very comfortable bed. Bathroom a bit dated but the shower was fab. Great Curtis which when closed, even in the middle of the day, made the room really dark. Even though we were on the main street there wasn't a lot of noise.

Loved this hotel, loved the character of it, the staff, the food, the bar and the bizarre outdoor area. Yes the carpets are ancient and the decor has age but it is spotless. As a carpet fitter myself the fact that they are probably 50 years old and in such good condition only reflects on the very high standards of the hotel staffs quality and work ethic over that time. The breakfast was the best I ever had in a hotel with quality ingredients. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of hot water in high ceiling bathrooms. In the heart of Clifden too. Excellent value. Will return for sure

Room Tip: Older clients should go first floor as there is no lift

If you are heading West then you have to stay here. Fabulous and the food is absolutely superb. Nowhere better in the West of Ireland. Highly recommended ****. Staff are superb and really accommodating

This is Clifden's oldest hotel. It's been run by the same family did many years. They do not have an elevator and promptly provided us help carrying our bags up two floors. Speaking of floors the whole place shows it's age with steeply sloping floors that bounce & creak as you walk across them. We were worried that we would fall through. It is centrally located.

Recently we were with a tour group that had dinner at the restaurant in the Foyles Hotel. The food was very good. I had lamb and it was tender and cooked according to my wishes. I didn't care too much for the molten lava cake which I had for dessert, but that's perhaps a personal taste as other people seemed to enjoy it.
The dining room was quite elegant and service was good.
Clifden is a very nice little town and it was fun to walk around it and see the various shops.

Room Tip: Did not stay; only ate in restaurant.
