We stayed st Sheedys for two nights with tickets to Cliffs of Moher and dinner one night with breakfast for both days. I had lamb for dinner and can honestly say that it was excellent as were my sides of potatoes and carrots. My companion had salmon risotto and goat cheese tomato appetizer that were excellent as well. We did not have dessert because we were tired and full. The breakfast was just as good with the Irish yogurt and fruit (currants, blackberries, blueberries) and pancakes (what we would call crepes in the US) we've very good. Would love to get recipe for the fruit and plan on seeing them an email to see if the chef will share. Great location for Cliffs of Moher and Burren park. We did not eat there the second night only because the chef had a day offs. Stay and eat. Very good and great hosts.

Room Tip: Great food and location for Cliff of Moher

We stayed on the 2-day Cliffs of Moher package. We were not disappointed, The room was spacious and the bed was comfy, The food on both nights was exquisite, top class.

Nothing was too much trouble and the owner was most helpful. The Hotel is an ideal place for exploring the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Father Ted sites.

All in all a brilliant hotel, highly recommended.

The furnishing of our bedroom did not do justice to its size - so big that you could scarcely see the television from the rather uncomfortable bed – it felt cavernous and well short of elegant. Also, from a Country House Hotel you might reasonably expect a rural outlook instead of a public car park and the fire escape of the Imperial hotel 20m away. The view out from the front of the hotel by contrast is indeed attractive, looking out towards the Burren.
Influenced by the website description we ate dinner in the hotel but again felt rather let down. The food simply did not rise to the claim that “what sets Sheedy’s apart from other boutique hotels is our exceptionally high standard of food”.
This is a pleasant enough hotel run to a good standard and with some nice features but sadly it did not live up to the superlatives of the website description.
As an aside: it might be helpful for the website to advise the poorly informed like us that Lisdoonvarna is renowned for its annual Matchmaking Festival in Sept-Oct when the town’s population rises from less than 1000 to reportedly more than 40,000. Especially as the Imperial Hotel next door appears to be the venue for all-night gigs. We only discovered this fame by chance after arriving in the country.

Room Tip: Some bedrooms at the back of the building overlook a public car park and the neighbouring Imperial Hotel fire escape

We stayed at Sheedy's Country House Hotel in Lisdoonvarna and loved it! The room was large and very clean, and the bed and linens felt new and incredibly comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel serves great upscale and interesting takes on traditional Irish food, and the Irish breakfast itself was a a delicious and filling way to start the day. Lisdoonvarna is an adorable little village, and it is a great base from which to visit the Cliffs of Moher, and The Burren.

My family and in-laws stopped in for a late night pint and ended up staying for a delicious meal. The hospitality and ambiance was second to none, everyone were extremely satisfied with their meals as well! Although we did not experience the accommodations, the bar, dining room, and reception areas were all very clean and the décor was perfect for the area.

We will be back!
