I was not at all sure where we were going and when we drove thru the village it was very quaint with Matchmaking Festival signs everywhere. My room was lovely and they had a really nice lobby where you could sit and a small lounge with the bar....the food was fantastic. A great place..We walked a couple blocks to the festival every night...and had a fantastic time.

Room Tip: cannot say....i was only in one room and it was not noisy even tho you could see the parked cars.

Very warmly greeted by Martina as we walked in the door and made feel right at home. I was having some mobility challenges at the time and Martina made certain that we could get a room on the first level to avoid the stairs. Greeted with a hot tea and some sweats and it could not have been more personal.

The rooms, the foyer, the entire facility is super clean with a lot of attention paid to ALL the details. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed with just about everything you need. The linens were fresh, the towels were incredibly soft and fluffy and there were lots of them.

The breakfast was incredible along with the service! Food was very fresh. In fact, John has his own herb & vegetable garden in front of the facility. We also had dinner there one evening and it too was superb! Great food, great wine and excellent service.

When going back to Ireland from Canada, you can be certain that we will pay a visit to John, Martine and their team as there was not one single area where I could improve upon. Sheedy's Country House Hotel & Restaurant has achieved the "Gold Standard" for sure.

We stayed here on a hiking trip. We were welcomed even with well worn hiking boots given newspaper to stuff into the boots to dry them for the next day hikes. Breakfast was wonderful, and the evening meal was amazing. the room was warm and welcoming, and the small bar was so cozy you hated to leave it. location was great easy to walk to the center of town. So why would you not enjoy the welcome!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely. It is small and family run. The landlady is warm and gracious and the small pub cozy. Best of all was the evening dinner. The owner, chief John is a gourmet artist and his creations are to die for. Recommend!

We were very disappointed by this hotel. Considering the reviews and the cost, we expected a great deal more. The first thing that we noticed was a very musty, old smell. I'm not sure what this was but it was all pervading. The hotel itself could do with updating. Furniture is well used, carpets showing signs of wear and peeling wallpaper in our bedroom. We did not eat in the restaurant but noticed that some guests were in the bar. The restaurant appeared empty. The bedroom itself was very spacious as was the bathroom but very traditional in style with signs of wear. Blankets rather than a duvet. The hotel displayed many awards but these are rather old: none were recent. Breakfast was ok but no self selection, which was disappointing. We have spent over a week travelling round Ireland and have stayed in many hotels during this visit. We would consider this to be the most disappointing of our whole stay. I am very surprised by the reviews on Tripadvisor and do not share previous views.
