We ate in this lovely restaurent on saturday evening,i rang earlier to book a table & all was done very professionaly, arrived & were shown to our table along the windows looking out on the lake & glasson golf club,we went for the early bird menu which had a great choice of everything & very reasonable priced,we had the cod starter & the pork belly special, both were excellant,we then both had the seabass with sweet potato fries and i have to say without any doubt that this was one of the tastiest fish dishes ive ever ate, dessert followed & again beautifully done,we could not fault this restaurent in any way, staff very attentive without intruding,a special word for our lovely waitress Zara who kept the food coming & the wine flowing, will defo be back soon & hope to stay over so we can enjoy this place to the full

I'll be brief. We loved this place. It is such a tranquil and serene hideaway. Our room was smaller than most hotel rooms but beautiful, with a private balcony overlooking the lake with a table and chairs so we could have a relaxing glass of wine. The room was the one right next to the bar but we didn't hear a bit of noise all night. We ate in the restaurant, where we shared the cote de boeuf and had Eton mess and lemongrass and coconut brulèe - both highly recommended (the bearnaise sauce with the beef was beautiful). The service in the lodge is very friendly but not intrusive. We didn't get to try the treatment rooms or the hot tub on this visit but next time we will as they look lovely. I'd recommend this place as a great place for couples or friends looking to relax and completely unwind. The peacefulness is amazing. Go there for that.

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights to celebrate a job promotion. The hotel is in beautiful surroundings and it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Our room was upgraded to one of the suites, the Burgundy Room, and it was absolutely beautiful. We had spa treatments and used the outdoor hot tub, both were amazing! We had dinner in the restaurant which was fab. Very clean hotel, lovely staff, would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed for one night only for a relaxing break and to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival, we checked in smoothly and were taken to our room. We stayed in Alsace which was fabulous. They marked our anniversary with lovely chocolates in our room. The room has all your needs covered. The view is breathtaking and so peaceful.

We ate in the restaurant that evening, service excellent, especially Norma. My husband had the crispy cod starter and we shared cote du boeuf. It was cooked to perfection. We sat enjoying our food with the sun setting outside over the lake. This really is a place to relax.

We went back to our room and I enjoyed a soak in the stand alone bath. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

Breakfast to our room (no charge) is really an experience you don't want to miss.

Check out plain sailing. It turns out we were so relaxed we left our lap top in the room. The staff of Wineport Lodge organised delivery by courier to our home at no expense to us - excellent customer service.

We will be back - but next time it will be more than 1 night. Thank you so much to all the staff in Wineport Lodge for a memorable stay.

Free parking. Close to Athlone for shopping etc. Glasson village close by for lunches. Use of bicycles in Wineport Lodge. Spa - we didn't use this time but v happy on previous stay. Beautiful hot tubs overlooking the lake.

Room Tip: All rooms have view of lake

I stayed here as part of a wedding party in early September (I was the celebrant!).

The setting is very beautiful, aside the 4th largest lake in Ireland with exalting views and a charming peace.

Norma and her team could not have been more helpful in making this very special day run so smoothly. The food is excellent and the restaurant is very much a destination restaurant in itself.

The suites are huge with magnificent views and lake facing terraces. In short a delightful 3 days.
