Waterville can get clogged with bus-loads of tourists, leaving those without pre-arranged lunch scrambling for a seat at a table. The Villa offered us a quiet table by the window in the bar and served us great local fish. The staff was friendly and efficient.

They did have a bus-load in the back, but we still had a relaxed and delightful meal.

Several other restaurants were so packed they turned us away.

I recommend O'Dwyers The Villa.

So we were driving the Ring of Kerry and so far had been very disappointed in the eateries we had passed and the choice thereof. By the time we hit Waterville my sugars were dipping and so time was of the essence rather than finding "restaurant extraordinaire". However, we located the Villa just as the rain started and it made our minds up more than the menu did. We were only looking for something lite to eat and the menu seemed to suffice. other patrons were having major lunch digestions but we went for a sandwich and a soup. Food was made fresh and came reasonably quickly and hit the right spot.
Inside at the front is a traditional Irish pub set up with bar and TV's but around the back there are tables for eating and i imagine a great atmosphere when the advertised music is on of an evening.
Quite a few places to eat in the town but this i think is one of the better ones.

A lovely pub with a decent menu. I had shepherds pie which was delicious. It was €13. Chicken wings were excellent as was the lamb stew. Staff were so friendly- particular nice. Service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it. Great food.

Unfortunately the lady who served us wasn't in the least bit friendly! Very stern and didn't crack a smile once! The food was just ok, not bad, but nothing special. Probably wouldn't return.
