“Well worth a stay”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

We stayed at the hotel after spending our day driving from Dublin through the country side & then spending time at the Cliffs of Moher. When we arrived the front desk staff were absolutely wonderful. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with suggesting pubs in the town & for ideas on our travels for the following day. The grounds were beautiful & the falls is a definite photo opportunity. The rooms were great. There was plenty of space, very clean, & the bed was very comfortable. We had 2 rooms and both were in great condition. Breakfast was very good. Again the wait staff was great in getting anything you needed. All you needed to do is ask & it was provided for you. The cooked meals were very hot & good and the buffet selection of cold foods & cereals & breads/muffins was great as well. Take your suits with you as the pool & hot tub are available to use to 10pm. I would definitely recommend this hotel & would stay there again.

Room Tip: We had 2 rooms on the 4th floor. One on the falls side & one on the side basically facing the ba...

We stayed in the hotel during the midterm break. we used the supervalu getaway points for 2 nights B&B for only €75 pp and kids stayed for free. The hotel grounds are lovely. The view of the falls and the river is fantastic. Hotel staff like the resturant, bar and leisure centre were always very welcoming during our stay. we had dinner in the hotel both friday and saturday evening the food was excellent. The prices were very reasonable too. There was a lot of activities to keep the children busy with a games room and the leisure centre.

The leisure centre was very clean and the best part was the outdoor hot tub, which I would recommend, if you can bare the cold before you get in.
The rooms were very spacious, clean and warm at night. we went up town to the local bars at night for a while, well worth a look is the lovely bar called Cooleys House which plays traditional Irish music.
Lovely attractions to visit also in the sourrounding area of clare, i would recommend the Cliffs of mohor and Doolin caves all of which are located about 20 minutes away from the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone espacially families. we travelled all the way from Donegal and we will be back again soon.

We stayed at the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon as part of a 'getaway' package which included two nights' accommodation, breakfast on both mornings and one dinner. Positives far outweigh the negatives with the Falls Hotel, so I'll start with the negatives to leave you with a better impression of the place overall. Previous reviews have described hotel as a bit noisy. Our room was located just off of the reception area and on the same level. There was a good amount of hall traffic at all hours, especially on Saturday night and very early Sunday morning. The room next to ours had a family with small children and voices from all family members were CLEARLY intelligible. On Saturday morning, we were greeted with a 6 AM fire alarm (false alarm) which rang for about 20 seconds. Doors along the hallway close securely, but also very loudly. Better be a heavy sleeper if you plan on sleeping at the Falls. That's the negative end. On the positive side, the staff at the hotel is generally very helpful and efficient. Particular members, working the desk and the restaurant(s) on Friday were outstanding at making guests feel at home. Food at the Falls did not disappoint, though the atmosphere is as generic as possible. I would highly recommend the Thai fish cakes, pork medallions and the pear tart. Breakfasts were the usual Irish fare with an assortment of cereals and fruit salads also available. The hotel is situated directly across from the impressive Ennistymon Falls (Dylan's Bar has a great view of the falls, too) and a walk into the heart of the town takes only five minutes. Furthermore, the location is a great hub for visiting all of the ancient and historical sites on the Burren as it's easy to get to and from Ennistymon. Kilfenora, with the Burren Centre, is five miles down the road. If you want to visit the beach and shops of La Hinch, it's just a ten minute drive as well. If you can live with a bit of noise, then the rest of what the Falls Hotel offers is definitely worth a visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room well away from the reception and restaurant areas.

Nice hotel, Staff were very friendly. Grounds of the hotel were lovely and the view fantastic. Found the bed probably the most uncomfortable i have ever experienced in a hotel. Dinner was very nice. It was very good value for money all round, but i had a pain in my shoulder and back from the bed.

I’m glad to hear that you liked the hotel, that you enjoyed the food and grounds and that you thought it was good value for money. I’m sorry to hear that you found the bed uncomfortable as we replaced all our mattresses only about 12 months ago. I hope you would consider visiting us again and if you’d like to contact me directly to tell me what room you stayed in, I can look into it further for you.
I hope to hear from you and my apologies again for your poor night sleep.
