We are regular visitors to Kings Wood to see the bluebells, having started when our grandson was young. Not quite so good this year, but that is the lack of rain. It is a pity they haven't ant seats for us old folk to take a rest!!

We drive past King's Wood quite often and admire the Bluebells from the car. We took a trip up there and had a good walk around, being mid week it wasn't too busy yet I could imagine on a weekend it would be packed out. The Bluebells were not at their best so another trip next week to see them in their true glory. Probably one of the best places in Kent to see Bluebells en masse.

We finally escaped using skills we'd picked up from survival shows. We read the moss on the trees, used the sun's path through the sky as navigation, fashioned clothes out of bluebells and squirrel pelt. For a time we thrived but we never stopped dreaming of home. Beware the paths are continually changing (I believe this to be the inspiration to the film mazerunner) and what feels like the right way ends in despair. Still it is a lovely place and the 6 of us will be returning even if only to convince the German chap the wars over and it's safe to come out.
