Great hike with a beautiful viewpoint at the top, from which we spotted a moose. The park is clean, well-maintained and has excellent facilities (dry toilets along the trail). We highly recommend bug spray (those black flies are everywhere), however there is a picnic area with mosquito nets in order to eat in peace. Overall, we would highly recommend!

The sentier Mont-du-lac-des-cygnes is a beautiful 8.4 km (return trip) hiking trail in the Parc National des Grands Jardins located just minutes from Baie Saint-Paul. This is one of several trails available in the Parc National des Grands Jardins.

An intermediate-level trail... this trail has been groomed in the past years compared to its early years when the entire trail resembled the last 700 metres of the current trail with more rough terrain. Nevertheless, the reward at the end of this trail is the spectacular view of Charlevoix from the top of Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes... just BEAUTIFUL (and windy!!).

On this beautiful day, we packed our packs with our CamelBaks, Krave jerkies, snacks, baguette sandwiches filled with Charlevoix cold cuts and cheese. We also brought along one active teenager to keep our energy levels motivated (lol).

Once at the top, we devoured our baguette sandwiches and enjoyed the spectacular view... a beautiful way to spend the day with Mother Nature!

My friend and I decided to do the Via Ferrata "La Montée" in the Grands Jardins near Baie St-Paul. We booked online, was quite easy. Showed up for 10am start and lucky us, we were the only 2 person with our super guide JP.
It's an amazing experience and a nice change from hiking.
We are so excited that we want to try to do others Via Ferrata in Quebec or other provinces.
Special thank you to JP our guide, he knows his stuff, quite knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time, we felt safe the entire time.

We were traveling with two teenagers and are not expert hikers. The 4+ Km walk up on the Mont du lac de Cygnes is not easy by any stretch, but it is lovely and the paths are well groomed. Take a full water bottle and a small energy snack to enjoy once you reach the peak. The final stretch is via staircases, so it is not dangerous by any stretch. It is stunning at the top and you can enjoy the 360 vistas. We completed it in just under 3 hours. Do not miss if you have the time. From the parc, it is about just under a two hour drive to Quebec City.

We spent a day here during a recent trip to Quebec. The views of the mountains and lakes were beautiful. After driving the paved roads to the nature center we drove the dirt road along the lakes to several river access points. We also took a dirt road past several camping grounds and cabins deep into the park. We never saw any caribou but did see Ruffled Grouse along the roads and loons on the lake. The ranger at the nature center told us where to look for moose but we never found one. There is a great trail to a gazebo overlooking the lake and mountains. If you love nature this is a great place to go.
