A really friendly welcome in this friendly, spacious and traditional village pub. Came for a drink and a snack but wanted to check out the food for a future visit. The lady serving was very helpful with this and really made me want to come back and check out their food in the future.

They have a pleasant garden with a view of some of the village's cottages - you can sit there and watch the world go by!

Excellent food, very welcoming hosts and dogs allowed in certain areas. Every one was very friendly and we felt like we were treated as frequent visitors, even though it was our first visit. Food and drink was excellent.

Room tip: Lovely Sunday lunch

We dropped in here for Sunday lunch after a walk with the dogs on Whitsands Beach. We sat outside in the quiet and sunny beer garden, and ordered fish and chips and a burger. Both were obviously home made - the cod was thick, succulent and very fresh, and the burger tasty and juicy.

The service was quick and friendly, and even the local customers made us feel very welcome. This was a great find, and highly recommended to anyone passing by.

Stumbled across the Eliot with a family of 5 plus baby after driving around and was made to feel very welcome by the owner (now know is Sue) this was after visiting 3 other local-ish pubs on previous days who all seemed to not give a care about their customers.

The Tribute on every visit has been beautiful, and today we had a gorgeous Sunday lunch, with a whole platefull of extra home made Yorkshire Puddings. Sue even arranged a bowl of mushy food for my baby which she devoured. 5 people 5 Sunday Lunches plus a drink £50...superb value for money.

You are not going to get a branded pub/inn experience so if that's what you're expecting you'll be disappointed. However if you want a genuine Cornish welcome a great pint and some friendly banter, you will be happy you popped in.

Thank you Sue and family for your hospitality

Pete, family & baby Layla

Stayed for three nights and had a great time. Sue and Courtney were so friendly and helpful in every way. Breakfast was large, hot and very tasty. Service was cheerful and efficient. Enjoyed the evenings here also, experiencing the relaxed and friendly ambience of the place and the company of the people. Sampled the food on two evenings and found it tasty and good value. Had a lovely room and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend a visit.
