It was a while ago we organized dinner in Boccondivino. BIg mistake ... that we waited so long. As always Mauro was the perfect host who made all of us welcome. One of us doesn't drink alcohol. No issue, bring your own, we keep it cool for you! No issues, perfect host!
The food was simply excellent. All dishes were that little bit special. The menu is short. But you get 3 excellent and unique dishes for anti pasto, primo, secondo and dolce. So you can experience local ingredients expertly prepared with unique but simple combinations that work. The pastas were excellent in terms of combinations with nuts, cheeses, fresh vegetables. The main course was simply one of the tastiest meat dishes I ever had in italy. Home smoked meat with cherrywood and then slowly oven cooked. Unbelievable.
Excellent wines, with a lovely follow up with desert wines, up for discussion with Mauro. You can taste, if you do not like other options up for discussion. Lovely to find your way through the wines of Italy.
O, and the dolce, lovely fit tart. Our friend, who is old roman, praised it as one of the best home made tastes he had in a restaurant in years. Still talks about it!
So we have learned from our mistake. We will be back sooner than later. Please book if you go. Mauro's place is small, but their hart and food is big!

With two nights in Labro on a walking holiday we were looking for places to eat and stumbled across a hidden gem in this restored historic town. Little did we know it would be one of the best dining experiences of the year. A cozy restaurant nestled into the side of the hill with charming hosts.

The meal was lovely from beginning to end and the highlights included an extraordinary wine list with very knowledgeable advice - we tried something new and it was delicious.

The anti-pasta was at work of art and came in two parts. First was six little nibbles including: mini-souvlaki with yogurt sauce, truffle croquette and a marvelous take on an eggplant moussaka. The second part was hand cut prosciutto and melted pecorino on crisp bread. For pasta the handmade ciriole with tomato and beef stock was lovely. For main the house smoked (with cherrywood) brisket finished in the oven on a bed of crisp eggplant skins was extraordinary.

Well worth a visit even going out of your way!

A very pleasant place. Labro is an ancient village very well conserved. A pearl still not discovered by many Italians and foreign people. This restaurant is very nice, inside and outside. Not really accessible with wheelchair because the streets are made with irregular stones. The menu is short and very well prepared. We had an appetizer, a dish of pasta and a second course. it was enough (and we are good eaters). We order a bottle of local wine and it was very good: young and fruity. The owner is a Sommelier. The total amount of our bill was 56 euros, not cheap but it's a fair price for a good meal and a fabulous atmosphere. Surely recommended.

Very friendly place. Cosy atmosphere. Very relaxing and welcoming.
Tasty, fresh, homemade food with an amazing wine selection. We were invited into the wine cellar to choose and the owner talked us through the different types. The deserts were also delicious.
Would definitely recommend. Great experience.
