This is such a beautiful place I'm surprised there are so few reviews. Maybe everyone's trying to keep the secret to themselves!?!? We stayed 5 nights as a family with young kids and grandparents and everyone enjoyed themselves.

This is a hundred year old cottage restored lovingly by Corinne and Ronnie the owners exclusively for the use of their guests. It's not a real working farm except for the horses which are doted upon by their daughters, so don't expect flocks of sheep and coops of chickens, but we enjoyed the company of the assortment of animals e.g. Alpaca, cow, sheep, goats. It was good enough for us to have a first experience of farm and country life. The cottage was old-ish which took a little getting used to but was very cozy and we felt like we were being transported back in time to olden farming days! It was such a memorable experience feeding the animals daily, looking for eggs in the coop, picking grapes to eat, and walking down the river with the curious horses looking at us from within their grazing areas.

Corinne is such a sweet lady who was so kind and friendly to my two sons! :) every afternoon my oldest would go "aunty Corinne aunty Corinne are you feeding the animals now" ..

Highly recommend this place to experience country life. Do not expect top-notch room service or the cleanest house. This is the country life! Be prepared to step into all sorts of poop. That's the fun of it. Would be good to have someone who can cook, then u can enjoy dinner watching the sun set and listening to the animals just outside. If u drive, it's very close to many Swan Valley attractions. Try to stay at least 3 days to really get a feel of the place!

Room Tip: This is a private cottage with 3 rooms for 8 people. Do ask for more blankets and ask how to switch...

We stayed as two families of eight people at the start of February. This is a great place, especially for our city kids. You literally have the farm, the animals and the acres of space to yourselves.

Don't pay any attention to other reviewers' comments about the condition of the cottage. It certainly has a lived in feel, but only the very picky would find fault.

My family (3 adults, 2 kids - 3 n 6 yrs, 1 senior) love this place. Cosy house with a lovely history, nice greenery and the owners were very friendly. My son always look forward to the ATV ride after animal feeding at 5pm. Great for city kids (and adults) to get close to nature and animals (sheeps, Alpacas, chickens, roosters, Xena the cow, horses etc). To add, the place is conveniently located near to lots of attractions in Swan Valley. Since the owner only host 1 family at a time, we have the place to ourselves !

We just returned from 3 nights here. We were two families with 3 kids between us. While what the other reviewers say about the furniture being a bit dated and cleanliness not being 100% we highly recommend this place for families.

Our children could not have been happier here. They roamed around, made friends with the sheep and were able to feed the animals whenever they pleased. Each day at 5pm 'Farmer Rob' gave them a ride on the tractor and took them to see the horses.

Our son cried when he left. Location is great for all of the wineries and activities. This is an old cottage and it is not in perfect condition, but a real treat for the kids.

It is a big and self contained cottage with a classic victorian theme situated at the top of a large farm.

The lightings in the cottage is a tad too dim for us, especially at the dining area when night falls.

The dining room is where you get great view of the big farm while you have your morning breakfast.

It is a big cottage that have three bedrooms. The furnishing of the cottage are a bit worn and better cleaning is appreciated.

The kitchen is equipped with the necessity you need if you intend to cook.
However, the utensils are not exactly clean, so make sure you give it a wash first before use.

Before heading out to explore the farm, its advisable to wear the rubber boots provided.

The cottage also have a washer and dryer if you intend to do washing.

At the farm, there were animals like goats, horses, sheep, lamas..didn't manage to spot any chickens or rabbits? and a lone cow at the farm. Walk right till the end of the farm downhill, there's a river there and you get great views of the farm.

There's no special arrangement for any farm activities, hence its more like DIY approach where you auto roam around the farm to feed the animals and explore yourself. There is a dedicated feeding time at 5pm by the owners which we did not participate.

Overall, it is a good getaway from the city to experience rural settings of a farm especially with the historic theme of this cottage. Comparatively, there are more interesting farm stays that we had been to as compared to this.
