Our second stay here. Really nice clean rooms. Fantastic staff. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. Breakfast is wonderful, fresh fruit, honey etc and doesn't seem to stop coming ! The view from the restaurant combined with a sunrise/sunset makes truly memorable. Id also recommend purchasing a few of the locally made honeys and preserves !!!

Room tip: Ask for a room over overlooking the plain. Book a table with enough time to watch the sunset. Really worth it !

Very friendly English speaking staff, very clean room with fantastic view out over the valley where the Battle of Philippi was fought. You could really imagine the armies of Mark Antony and Octavian slugging it out with those of Brutus and Cassius to decide the fate of Rome. Excellent seven course breakfast with fresh orange juice and individual pots of coffee that really set us up for the day ahead.

Rarely one can enjoy such a combination of picturesque view, calmness, elegance and friendly attitude.
That place is not a standard hotel, it is a warm place for admirers of nature, history and good food.

In general, this hotel has a very good feel to it.
In lies high above Krinides. The view from the dining area is really fabulous.
Rooms are very nice and clean, the staff is polite and friendly.
Prices for rooms as well as food are OK.
A good place to stay for a visit to the site of ancient Philippi.
The road uphill is quite steep at the end.

Only staying at this hotel for one night but we will come back. We are staying here as we visited the Philippi Archaeological site and have stopped off on our way down south. The archaeological site is a must and this hotel has really rounded the day off beautifully situated on the hillside overlooking Krinides, the Acropolis of Philippi and the plains and mountains beyond. What a stunning view.
We were welcomed by 'Bill' who showed us to our rooms on the third floor which had balconies overlooking a Krinides and the plains. Such an expansive view.
The rooms and hotel are spotlessly clean, beds comfy, bathrooms modern and clinically clean. My only complaint, the shower heads are too low for me at 6'2". Aircon is also good and modern.
Restaurant on 2nd floor has a large concertina window that opens along the entire length of the front with views out over the plains. Truly lovely on a summer's evening watching the sun disappear behind the foothills. Food was delicious and not overpriced 7-20 euros for main courses, worth every penny. A fantastic evening meal.
Two teenagers travelling with us were highly impressed with this hotel which is saying something. No pool but fab base for a few days.
Do not hesitate to book this hotel, ask for a front facing room with balcony.
