We booked 2 nights here but ended up staying 3 because we loved it so much. Shiva greeted us and took us around Kalkudah and the beaches for free. He gave us real insight into how the area looked before the tsunami and civil war and it was really refreshing to hear. We were brought welcoming tea and an amazing welcome juice. Shiva employs some young guys who help out and who are very polite and keen to practice their English! You can take bicycles out for free and explore Kalkudah properly. The food here was amazing - Shiva always made sure he brought us new vegetables for the curry each night. We were on a budget so paid for non AC so our room got very very hot. It was bearable however. Really feels like a homestay and we only wish we could've stayed longer!

We stayed in this guesthouse for two nights. We did travel a lot in the week before, and this place was just perfect to take a break and relax for a while. The guesthouse has very clean rooms, a nice green garden, bikes you can use for free (it is only a 5 minute ride to the coast!), and a lovely owner who took us with his tuktuk on a ride along the coast with sunset. The food is also incredible, especially the crab we got on the second evening as well as the Sri Lankan breakfast. A warm, real Sri Lankan guesthouse that I would definitely recommend!

We stayed in a hotel at the beach for 6 nights, but we only ate dinner twice in our hotel.
We kept asking people in Passikudah for a good restaurant and they gave us the name from Shiva's hotel Vasuki! We ate dinner at Vasuki hotel the rest of our stay in Passikudah!
If you want real great Sri Lankan food, great service and advice, just go to this hotel!

We stayed one night in Vasuki guest house as it was recommended by our great guide Suresh. It is a very clean and quiet guest house but what makes this place absolutely wonderful was the fantastic dinner with fresh lagoon crabs. The service is very personal and much better than in the luxury hotel on the beach where we spent our second night in Kalkudah. I can highly recommend.
