Had meals here over the years and have always been excellent. But called in on Wednesday at 8.30pm on the way back from an unexpected visit so desperate for something to eat. There were tables empty in the restaurant and in the bar. But got told by the waiter they had 2 large parties coming in so couldn't accommodate us. Thought this a bit odd at the time as it was just gone 8.30pm. I did wonder afterwards if this was because they didn't want to serve anymore people. I was very upset afterwards as I felt fobbed off.

Arrived on spec needing dinner on our way home. Front of house was efficiently welcoming, The menu was unsurprising, but done surprisingly well. Our meal was delicious, the portions a sensible size. The cheeseboard was fantastic - only 4 cheeses but each an absolute gem of flavour, served with an interesting selection of biscuits. We would definitely detour to go here again.

We arrived at The Crown after a long (and sweaty) cycle ride around the village in the recent 30 degree heat. Luckily for us, there are many shaded benches, so we did not have to sit in the sun!

After going to the bar and ordering the drinks, we sat down and waited. Also lucky for us, there is a small climbing frame and climbing tree for the kids to play on!

The pub garden is beautiful, enclosed all sides. Overall, an amazing pub with a lovely garden! Highly recommendable!

Went for Sunday late lunch a few days ago after visiting my son who lives locally. A few mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, but on one of the hottest days of the year we were impressed. Three of us had the roast beef, which was enormous and the beef was one of the best we have had with a Sunday Roast. Two of us had the Ploughman's, great, only comment would be the piccalilli was very bland and tasteless. My son had the Caesar Salad, very nice but when it arrived it was very warm. There are great areas to sit outside and the service was very attentive. We would visit again.

Very good .Went here for lunch.Sat in a very pleasant garden to wait for latecomer.
This Pub/Restaurant seems to have only one person behind the bar doing everything, and everything he did he did well.
Had a light lunch and everything was good.
Will visit again to see what it is like in the evening.a.
