What? A reasonably priced farm shop?

We managed to spend a very pleasant few hours wondering around, nice lunch, things to look at and... read more

Just been strawberry picking. Had to book first, for £1.50 each. Then, upon arrival had to pay for the punnet before going in. We chose one large punnet - thank you, that will be another £12. So that is £16.50 for the 3 of us to fill one large punnet.

In previous years, the entry fee was refunded off of the price of the strawberries, but not this year. Millets have decided to charge customers even more.. and they were overpriced before! Now, those makes the prices absolutely daylight robbery.

How on earth they feel they can charge this much is pure greed, 100%. The owners and management should feel ashamed as they are robbing families.

We have visited Milletts Farm several times in the past, but not for a long while, due to the covid pandemic.
They have been very busy making improvements.  Both cafe's have been updated, the main one next to the Farm Shop has been given a huge refurbishment, it seemed much larger and able to accommodate more tables, whilst still remaining covid safe.
The smaller café in the garden centre has more than doubled in size.
In both of the cafe's the staff are very covid aware, you are shown to a table which has been thoroughly cleaned after the last occupants, given a menu, then only one person goes to place your order. Your order is then delivered to your table. I was very impressed with the number of staff, all controlled by  the most efficient manageress I have ever come across.
I would like to say a huge "well done" to them and her.
I think that there was less on the menu than previously, but still enough choices. I chose the burger which was delicious. As was the coffee.
The garden centre itself is still well stocked with gardening products and plants.  There is also clothing, shoes, kiddies toys & gifts & cards.
The farm shop is as good as ever,  with delicious produce, meat, cheese, bakery products, deli, etc, etc.
There are still the other shops on site, the clothing tent & the crafts.
There is alot happening for children, with bug week, a maze a very good play area, I believe that they still have the small animals.
I also have to mention the newly refurbished toilets,  they have been done to such a high standard, they wouldn't look out of place in a top hotel.
To conclude,  it's not just a garden centre but a day out for all the family. I highly recommend a visit.

We gave up trying to push a wheelchair round. Gravel paths everywhere made it very difficult to walk around and should have a warning about this

on a recent visit with my elderly father who was in a wheelchair it was very difficult on most of the footpaths to get around as the paths were very rough with rocks sticking out, making it very hard to push the wheelchair also a very bumpy journey for my father. It would also be the same problem for anyone pushing a pushchair. M.ore thought is needed for solving this very important problem

Great place for families with kids, lots of fun activities and playground equipment for children. The mini bakers and farmers markets activities were ace! I would've given this place 5 stars but had to take two off for the poor customer service at the cafes on the farm. I appreciate staff has to follow covid protocols but it's no excuse to be rude to visitors. Just a little smile and a polite, we're full at the moment, please come back when it's quite would do. All I wanted was a takeaway coffee #JustSaying
