I work in Evereux a lot and always make sure whenever I do that I visit Le Hastings.
This is an English themed pub as per recent reviews and have to say that the landlord always pulls out all the stops to ensure that you have a lovely experience enjoying fine beer and food.
Have seen some bad reviews but to be honest totally disagree as this is my first stop always. The entracote steak with roquefort sauce is to die for...cant wait to call back.

We felt flattered that a bar in Evreux should go to such efforts to replicate an English Pub with such enthusiasm. Le Hastings has that quality reminiscent of the 1800's, and one could imagine Sherlock Holmes to be taking a draught there. Worth a visit for viewing purposes - biere presse, etc. and whiskey choices etc all ok. Didn't eat there, just popped in out of curiosity - try it for an experience!

We made short stop in Evreux just to find something for dinner. Le Hastings was open when other places were still closed. Barman was friendly and spoke gladly few words english. Place was like traditional pub should be. We ordered some steaks, cidre etc. They made them ready quite fast and everything was prepared good. Especially good was my creme brulee. Only bad thing was some drunken customer in near table, but at least the barman asked him go away. The prices were not expensive. We spended there good time!

It was already 10pm, our gas canister had run out and the campsite host had told us morosely that nothing would be open to give us either gas for our camping stove or the hope of chips. Driving around Evreux on a Sunday evening suggested he was right, but Le Hastings came to the rescue. While the solo barman supplied the needs of a large group of drinkers he tucked us in a safe corner and supplied us from a diverse menu of steaks, salads and standard bar food. It wasn't amazing but it was solid, tasty and fairly priced, with generous portions. And we were grateful!
