we picked this B and B pure;y for location and reasonableness to attend memorial service and did not expect much for £44 for two people with breakfast in a residential road.
In fact the house was the last on that side with a small lane beyond.
The outside was just large and modern but inside was a surprise: a hall tha t was the full height of the building with galleried first floor.
The sitting room and dining room were split level and enormous with huge windows on the far side overlooking a stream and park - not anohter house in sight.
The large fireplace had logs burning.
Upstairs the large double room with an extra bed overlooked the drive on two sides. Everything was immaculateand attractive. The only quibble was the low wardrobe under a sloping roof.
Our hosts were friendly and helpful: the breakfast was ample and well cooked and we thought surely we had made a mistake and the bill would be £44 each - but it wasn't.
We had an excellent and v ery reasonable dinner a tthe Village Inn in Dunblane.
