Stayed for two nights with dinner (one evening), bed and breakfast for both.
The room, double deluxe (2nd floor above entrance) was not quite as spacious as we had hoped but was clean and nicely decorated.
Our biggest disappointment was a low, rumbling, vibrating noise that kept both myself and husband awake both nights. This really had a big impact on our experience and therefore our rating of the hotel.
Dinner was very pleasant.
Breakfast on the first morning was ok, apart from being sat at a table that had not been cleaned, not great during current climate. The second morning we waited 30mins and asked 5 members of staff, 6 times, for a coffee, nobody returned to explain the delay or advise of when the coffee might arrive. It was finally brought in by a member of housekeeping who was helping out in the dining room.
Most of the breakfast food was very good, but the poached eggs had a lot of uncooked white still.
The staff were very friendly, however could benefit from a little more training and organising in order to avoid food going to wrong tables and walking around, several times, until locating correct recipients.
The grounds were beautiful and I'm sure the rooms overlooking the back of the hotel have great views of them.More
