We visited here on our first visit to the Vendee in 2004 and returned this year after a gap of 4 years. Little had changed! The English language Vendee "bible" by Angela Bird described the place as "Pleasantly unsophisticated" and you can't really better that description!
What you get is a sprawling pleasure park running up a hillside in this lovely wooded bit of the Vendee. The attractions vary. There are a couple of large areas of playground type equipment (but to a larger scale) swings, roundabouts etc. There is a separate area with an array of bouncy castle and trampoline stuff, some bumper boats (guarantee you will get wet) , a large (50m I think) slide, a large and scary chair - o - plane and some other things dotted around, the two bits of the park being connected by an ancient and arthritic narrow gauge railway that moves at slightly below normal walking pace!
Everything is included in the price with the exception of some battery powered cars for which you buy 1 Euro tokens. New to us were some bungee trampolines that the children enjoyed, these were supervised but elsewhere health and safety matters are generally left to the common sense of the users and their parents/carers.
It would be easy to poke fun at this slightly ramshackle place but the fact remains that the children there were all having a good time as were our daughters (9 and 10), their boy cousin (9) and a significant number of older French folks who probably remembered the park from their childhood - it has been there for quite a while it would seem from the posters in the slightly run down cafe bar at the top of the park. There is another food/ice cream outlet at the bottom of the park (wasn't open this year) and a small hotel restaurant in the middle - we had a meal here once and my recollection was that it was actually quite nice.
If you want to see what theme parks were like before anyone had heard of the term "white knuckle ride" this is the place for you and you can easily pass a day here.
